    Do you look at/read threads???

They were 250 baht for the bottle of 4 (small ones); half price sale. The Shiraz was nice, worth buying. The Merlot was terrible, not the very worst ever, just plain bad. I'm now on the Semillion Sauvignon Blanc (one of my least favourite wines, I never buy/drink this crap) and will give you feedback shortly...

Drowning my sorrows with Hennessy cognac and Glenlivet single malt while getting thrashed at monopoly by a nine year old girl.

The Glenlivet has been poured into a Grants bottle for the purposes of adding some syrup to it to turn it into a liqueur. Works a treat and should only be done with single malts not with cheap grain whiskies. You have to use decent syrup too, not the supermarket stuff.

The Hennessy got the same treatment.

The new Aussie monopoly set does not have my favourite piece, the little sports car (it has a ute instead), so I used my car key as my piece.

Hey Dill are you in Chili? Jet seting around the world. That would be so cool. The next thread should be not what you're drinking but where your drinking Californiait at.

I'll start with I had the day off so last night I had to clean the top of the tool box to keep the flys at bay as they took a passion to the cheap Califonia wine stains that had been accumulating on it thus far this summer.

As I was cleaning out the garage fridge I found a cheap bottle of UV Vodka next to some

Bloody Mary mix. I can't recall much after sundown but what's certain is I did not visit the gay Chilean.

Sorry for the paragraphs spacing , as I'm tired of fighting this phone. Silly thing keeps putting words in my mouth. It was a nice night, warm and dry. Not chilly at all.

The Yellowtail sparkling white and sparkling rose are both seriously good for cheap bubbly. The white is almost clear in colour and really crisp.

Here is a the rose from a Sunday afternoon a couple of months ago on the beach. Nice colour.

If you tried it you would think you had died and gone to heaven.

Whisky is really a bit yukky straight as anybody except an alcoholic or a poseur would admit.

My mix is 75-80% single malt and 20-25% agave syrup.

If you try this you will never drink whisky straight again in your life.

So far this month I have polished off a doctored bottle of Glenfiddich and one of Glenlivet.

Next up is a bottle of Balvenie.

What grown man says "Yukky" about a drink?

I have never ever given a red to anyone on TD but that right there is quite deserving of one.... All the Scotch's you listed are good quality middle of the road spirits. Go buy some real dog cheap stuff and mix it.... Pour about an inch of those into a nice glass, let it have some air and enjoy it.

I had a friend not to long ago drop by. I had not seen him in quite a few years. I brought out some top shelf Tequila to roll a few back ($250 a bottle stuff). He asked me to make him a maragrita. I looked at him and said "FUCK OFF" you can have water....

    Way.

    Whisky is yukky drank straight.

It is an honest FACT that every fella who is scared of what folk think of him cannot bring himself to confess to any other fella.

You swallow a mouthful and suppress a grimace and then fake a satisfying 'aaaaah' and then wax lyrical using affected language about the complexity of the flavour.

Get over your affectations and admit your true feelings.

    Straight whisky is yukky.

Adding 20-25 syrup turns it into a liqueur which is to die for gorgeous and with the syrup to make it palatable you can genuinely taste the complexity of the flavours rather than having to be a fakey fake and try and regurgitate something you read on google as a believable analysis of the flavour.

I will never use grain whisky to make my home made liqueur as I like to savour the flavour and analyse its nuances which is precisely the reason for doctoring it.

Utter Nonsense clearly you have never had a really good bottle of anything hence your need to mix it and make it sweet.

Are you kidding me? I absolutely LOVE a top Scotch, bourbon or whiskey (albeit Anejo Tequila is my favorite spirit). They are very complex now and not moonshine like they used to be. Some are aged in old Congnac barrels, others in various old casks and I happen to be able to smell the Oak or Cognac, Agave and can taste all on how its made. Small batch runs are the best. Now if its a rot gut $10 a bottle I wouldn't even drink it, mixed with your recommendation or not. Mixing is covering up. I have expectations.

In fairness to you(and others not to start a debate) some do not like hard liquor at all in any form(Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Bourbon etc etc) and require it to be "sweety" tasting to stomach it all. Its why woman like fruity, sweet, fluffy drinks. Easier for them to drink. Why do you think they Use "Well liquor" in bars. Its cheap crap and by adding loads of sugary mixers they can sell it by the boat loads.

With that said do not say that the others are hiding some feelings about it all. I enjoy all my spirits straight or on the rocks and I love the smell of what I drink and love the taste. You get what you pay for. Its why some bottles are priced the way they are

Its all good, enjoy your drink.

    Cheers.

They are obviously hit and miss. The Shiraz was fine, two of the other three were pretty terrible.

Has a few Belgian beers the other evening:

Never tried the flat stuff. I only drink bubbly these days. Real champagne is a treat but for everyday drinking I think the Yellowtail is maybe my favourite.

Well it is like Drambuie except you can do it with all different whiskies so you get to enjoy comparing the flavours. I originally experimented with honeys (which is used in Drambuie) but I prefer syrup as the honey tends to overpower the flavours of the whisky also syrup gives a clearer coloured drink, especially Agave syrup.
