My daily comb over attempts are no longer working

Ive reached the stage where my daily comb over attempts are no longer working even with the help of hair spray aerosol cans , its now obvious to the world I'm loosing my hair at a rapid rate , so I'm reaching out for some straight forward advice from fellow members who have bitten the bullitt and shaved their heads. So have you got a shaved head , what made you decided to go the whole hog and go for the bald look , what's your routine , how do you shave your head , what gear do you use , did in your view shaving your head make you look older or more aggressive looking , how has having a shaved head worked out for you , was it a big mistake . Is any one else thinking about shaving their head . Any advice on the subject most welcome

I had a shaved head for years when I was younger, by choice not through baldness. Took a razor to it every night. When the time comes I will be shaving it all off again in a heart beat.

Everybody bar nobody looks better with a shaved head if you are going bald IMO. Just try and get a tan ASAP, a glowing white head isn't a good look.

I think the shaved look is good.

I started losing my hair in 1995 at a rapid rate. I was shedding like a dog, so I grew my hair long at one length and slicked it back with gel.

    But then....voila!

Finesteride hit the market under the name "Propecia." My dermatologist told me to try it if I wanted and I did.

I actually grew hair back and now have a thick head of hair.

Have you tried finesteride? It's sold in 5 mg tabs in LOS under the name "Proscar."

The daily dosage is 1 mg, so take a knife and chop the 5 mg tablet off at 1 mg per day.

The price is reasonable, it's not that expensive.

Studies over the years have shown it works.

If you care, that is. Some guys try finesteride, some don't bother.

    P.S. / Disclaimer or whatever:

If someone is say, is 75% bald, it is not really worth using. Some guys that were 75% bald or so, did have some return, but it is too late at this stage.

Again, the shaved look is good, IMO.

After Ive had a shower ive combed my remaining hair flat and to the sides to try and see what I may look like if I do shave my head , If I smile and grin I don't look too bad , but no smile and I look like some sort of alien from planet X .

I have a no 1 out of choice. Many of my friends are bald or shave their heeeds out of choice too.

Can look like a combat 18 convention when we are all together in the bar though...

Buy some clippers and give yourself a #1 every few days. You cannot fail to look better than if you're trying to hide your baldness.

So do you use an electric shaver first then a wet razor , ive asked the TGF what she thinks , she just used the normal up to you , she has volunteered to do the job, which I don't mind as she cuts and combs over my hair now . its a tough decision

A few drinks and a 40 baht hair cut, you'll look just like Bruce Willis!

I'm a number 2 by choice. I used to shave it with a razor by choice and will start to do so again quite soon. I'm not really balding but have quite a high hairline naturally, I'm a number 11 on that diagram and always have been, but it is just starting to get a tiny bit higher so it's only a matter of time. Looking forward to being a slap head again.

Do it yourself over the sink.
Use the #2 or #3 fitting.

I know when I'm standing in a line at immigration , I can feel all the farang eyes burning into the back of my neck as my comb over is attracting attention , my may be simplistic equation is that any hair on a mans head is better than none , as having no hair only makes you look older .

There is nothing more unattractive or aging than a combover. I don't know one woman who would prefer a guy trying to hide his hair loss to a shaved head. Shaved heads are sexy!

It'll look a lot neater close cropped and more importantly you'll be saving a shed load of money on shampoo and combs.

I did mine around 12 years ago and have no regrets. During the first few days of mirror gazing i thought my dad was in the same room mind you, but that feeling soon wore off.

Great to wake up in the morning looking the same as you went to bed and also find that your hair is dry immediately after stepping out of the shower.
