Save Locky's Dad - Nick Auden

I don't normally get into this petition things, but this guy is a friend. He plays Aussie Rules footy for the Singapore Wombats, some of you may even know him. He's a goodfellow and a gentleman. If you feel inclined take a look, sign the petition.

    If not, no harm done.

    Thanks.

Save Locky's Dad | Nick Auden

    Locky's Dad Is Nick Auden,

the dad of three little kids:
    Lachlan ("Locky"), Hayley, & Evan
    a loving husband
    an athlete
    a successful businessman

And he keeps surviving against all odds in his battle against Stage 4 Melanoma.

Nick is determined to be a survival case study for other advanced melanoma fighters.

But he needs access to a trial drug to beat this disease – for Locky, Hayley, and Evan to keep their dad.

Join us in making sure Nick wins this battle.

Its sad to see a young fellow like that with kids with C, I spent most of my life sailing in southern latitudes to aware of the possibility of melanoma, I check my arms and back regularly.

Tried to sign but can't for some reason. Can I assume that this guy is an Aus.? Seems they suffer more from melanoma than others? Is the pasty Scottish/Irish skin that the early settlers had and evolution has not yet caught up.
Or are all Europeans who live outdoors susceptible? I had the pleasure of the acquaintance of a Kiwi forester once who had problems with his nose.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

All i would do is show you lady what to look for, plenty of info in the internet an get her to go over yr body with a fine tooth comb. I believe the nearest option for Lao is Udon.
Have spoken to a doc there and asked him to convince me of his knowledge, he seemed capable.

Thanks all, but to no avail.

Dad dies after missing out on cancer drug

Nick Auden, 40, had been given only months to live after melanoma tumours spread to his brain.
The father-of-three, who lived with his family in the US state of Colorado, qualified for a clinical trial to get a new cancer drug earlier this year — but he suffered a medical complication that then disqualified him.
His family started an online petition called "Save Locky's Dad" — named for Mr Auden's son, Locky — that received thousands of signatures in the hope of convincing high-end pharmaceutical companies Merck and Bristol-Myers Squibb to offer him the experimental drug PD-1.
But both companies declined to provide the drug, which teaches the immune system to attack cancer, to Auden outside of a clinical trial.
Bristol-Myers Squibb cited safety concerns and Merck said it did not have enough of the drug to give to him.

November 25, 2013: After a family's campaign to have their dad placed on a trial-drug treatment for his stage-four melanoma, Nick Auden, known to viewers as 'Locky's dad' has sadly passed away.
Mr Auden is understood to have died overnight, TODAY reports.
He is survived by his wife and three young children.

    A sad case.
With the drug company citing safety concerns about treating a man who was dying, makes me wonder if they were concerned about lawsuits.
If this was the case then it's a terrible indictment of the prevalent "sue everybody" mentallity.

    RIP Aussie bloke.

True, but who can tell, and it wasnt just me who pushed it on FB.

Interestingly enough, one of my first girlfriends was introduced to her husband via Nick. Small world.
