Who cares where it is? I know because I've been there. ALL Aussies and Mowries (jest intended) contributed to the war effort but when is anyone going to let it go. When is anyone going to live in the 21st century and forget this stuff? When are the muslims going to bring their religion into the 21st century? I think it's going to be when the rest of the world puts World War II and all the other religeous crap behind them. It's NEVER going to happen.

There will be wars and RUMORS of war throughout ETERNITY.

Let's just hope we live that long.

    Got that right, Frankie!
btw, a lot of the Brits I work with are still sore that septics used to make more than them on the North Sea rigs. Something to do with us showing them how to drill for oil...

Yep, did the same in the Arabian gulf too.
Brits could not be barge foreman and got only about half as much money as Yanks, but they did make a hell of a lot more than the local Arabs, Filipinos and the 40 Thai welders that I had on my barge.
Same was true in mainland Saudi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran and Iraq.

But I would hate to predict what is going to happen with the Islam thing that is going on now, Like the Brits, they don't forget a slight soon, And I would imagine that they are still pissed because of the German and Brit knights that came and killed some of them during the 11 and 12 hundreds during the crusades.

Sometimes we get caught up with 'verification via a link' WTF is that? On another forum there is an asshole that doesn't believe a thing unless a "link" is provided.

Do you have any idea of how much history has been written without 'links'? For many reasons, one being copyright, there is not a plethora of "links" to other's work when it comes to historical FACT.

If you can't find a link does that mean that the information is not credulous? Flock that, get a llife and READ! Something other than a computer screen.

    1) It's common courtesy when quoting someone else's words to name the author or the source.

    2) It gives the reader the opportunity to read the whole thing, putting it into context, which can make a huge difference.

3)Knowing who said something and where, makes it possible to assess the reliability and veracity of what's being said.

It's unlikely some text will appear in the reply box out of the ether, it usually is either written by the poster or copied from somewhere else. As a rule, I prefer the poster's own words to express their thoughts and opinions, but appreciate a link to news and info that is commented on.

The strange thing is that I actually like quite a few Seppos individually, but they are not the stereotypical ones (ie. they don't talk as if everyone with the province should hear what they've got to say).

It's the loud, ignorant, arrogant ones who take themselves too seriously that I avoid, and it's the idea of America and what it seems to stand for that the rest of the world despises.

Not saying MTD is one but the Brits used to have this classic expression for a fellow Brit who imitated particular Yank habits. For example, coming away with some Texas mannerisms after say attending Well Control School in Houston - they'd call him a 'plastic yank'!
