    Getting a new dog

Looking at all the posters that have been burgaled here in lovely foking Thailand by the local lovely natives I think it is time to think about a new main dog for security, as you can see in this picture my main dog is like a bit dead, the bitch rottie sleeps in our bedroom so she aint much of a guard dog, then we got the yappy little dogs that normal people pretend are footballs and kick them as far away as posible, so it's time for a new gaurdian of dirtydogs abode, so should it be German shepards or Rotties?

German Shepards are brilliant, foking clever and will learn everything you are willing to teach them, we used to have quite a few and these beasts were clever, you can get them to climb anything you want and they are up for it, but hell, they need a lot of attention, we used to get the army and police dogs that just didn't make the grade, each one would have a little problem, it maybe guns or hatred of small animals that they had to kill, these were well trained dogs that just had a little problem, but by fok they were good.

Now rotties are lazy buggers and cant climb a curb without help, but I love them, they look good and they don't ask for help, they are an independant sort of dog, I got to admit I am not sure on which to get, a German Shepard you would just say get in the truck, a rottie it would be repeatedly saying get in the truck you fat git, I got to admit though it will probably be a rottie

Go for the rottie, they are good dog's. I'd have one if I though I'd look after it properly and it would'nt get run over by a truck.

My dog wouldn't even let my girlfriend near me if i was asleep next to him, and she used to feed him.

I like chows. protective, strong independent dogs, they take a lot of work to maintain and train, the weak-willed need not apply. They do weigh in at 50 kilos but at 20 - 30 kilos they pack a lot of wallop and don't back down from shit. Going though my second divorce the ex came to my new house now this woman bathed, fed and loved my dog.

I was in the back with sweet young thing, the ex looked in the window, Dog was out through the screen and chased into her car. Good dog.

German Shepards are good dogs, like you say, smart. The Rotties are great dogs and for my money, more intelligent. They take a helluva lot more work to train; they ain't dumb just bull-headed. Similar to them chows

A falang guy I used to know came around here before, brought his 2 german sheperds with him in the back of the pick-up...not that good idea. The female was allright, mine went for the male as soon as it got off the truck, I pulled him off after a while, the German Sheperd ended up sitting under the table all afternoon.

A good mongral takes some beating
I have more than the average number of arm and legs

well time to get a bit morbid, as a dog i prefer rotties, they dont back down from anything where as german shepards do, rotties are attack and attack, shepards think about this, they attack and then back away, I would rather fight with a German shepard than a rottie.

I hope you get a new Rottie DD and he becomes as good a guard dog as the one you sadly lost lately.

    Get an Akita.

I knew a rather scary character called Kenny Bastardo (not sure what his real name was) who had a massive Akita. He used to drive around in a clapped out Rover Metro with only the drivers seat in and a carpeted raised floor around the rest of the car for the dog.

Wicked guard dog couldn't go near his Metrol with out it nearly bursting out the windows to get you.

Blue heelers would be a good dog for the climate here I reckon.
I certainly wouldn't go for any long haired breed.
    Sorry about your dog DD.

From Squirrel's link, I would get a Great Dane over anything else.

I think a Great Dane is a bit big to fire out of one of those orange guns. I think a Chiwawawawaaawawa pup would go further.
