    Excess Baggage

Bags Packed - 32" TV strapped onto a 22" Monitor 24KG - allowance is 30KG on emirates - seems the extra shit I have accumulated will no doubt fill the baggage allowance for me and the boy - 60KG - What I would love to know is what the excess baggage charge may be for two mountain bikes, total weight about 25KG, they will be in addition to the already mentioned checked bags, so I suppose I get a double whammy of extra baggage + extra weight...anyone done this before - it is Thailand to the UK?

It almost seems worth upgrading to Business rather than paying a) a forwarder that will take 6 weeks to deliver, or going economy and paying the excess- FUCK- I can ride the bike home from the airport if I can trust a Newcastle Taxi driver not to steal the bags or rape the kid!

I think getting it to the airport here in CM will be a minimal problem, I foresee a few logistical problems at the other end.....probably get arrested for making a child drag a 32 inch TV with a 24 inch monitor plus a PS#+PSP+ all games and add ons through customs.....maybe I need to book a Turk!

I would expect if I tell the cops we are both GAY and love niggers everything should be sweet!

Thanks Oldcat- I can live with that, not going to leave anything here of value for any stupid bastards to rip off!

The thought of them having their slimy paws on anything I bought makes me want to hurl!

I Looked at their calculator already, it just seems to show charges for overly fat bags.

I am curious as to how they charge for a couple of bikes - they are quite long - suppose I could take the wheels off if pushed................

I think the major hurdle is the two bikes - they will be oversize and over weight, I am in a dilema as whether to book Thai who seem to be bike friendfly or chance Emirates with a business booking - I reckon business class they won't want to make shit for a few kilos..............

Not scarpering really, after the bout of pancreatitis I had a few weeks back, the Doctor told me I probably have 6 years before I get some more serious shit, I have a lad who is 11, he can get into a decent school in the UK until he is 18 so that is the real reason, I'd rather die there with him getting an education than dying over here and my son being fucked! I would just like to give him a chance - I had imy chance, the education back then was pretty good - but I see the education here in Thailand as pretty SHIT to be honest, and you know when you get to be an old fucker who really doesn't have many years in front of you, don't you think as your parting gift from this world, an education might be something worthwhile!!!

I flew Emirates biz class BKK to Amman with overweight bags and they didn't say anything (one item was a big box). But that was quite a few years back. Things might have changed. Sorry to hear about your health.

Is that you, Miggins? If so, I'm expecting some quality rants once you settle in.
