Put some more up Nigel, . The detail in those drawings is incredible. You are a great guy Nige, I bet he was a chip off the old block like his old man.
Well somebody has to post it !!

Well as we seem to have just about finished with this little thread , its been quiet a couple of days now ,, I will just add the tail end bit of Paul and his diesel train drawings ,, as well as trains he loved trucks , Bon Jovi ( well he did have to have some faults lol ) and his greatest love above all was tigers .
Here we are Paul + me on our first holiday together
Another of his truck drawings
His pic of his hero JBJ
One of his many Tiger drawings
In his memory I painted a pic of a Tiger for his brother ,, this is a big painting does not really show in a photo but its about 4 foot 6 " by about 1 foot 6" to give you an idea .
Hope you have enjoyed this little diversion from the most boring thread on TD![]()
Thanks for sharing these Nigel.
For a 9 year old these drawings seem really quite unusual.
He seems to have had a fantastic eye and a precocious talent.
Very confident lines and an almost photographic sense of perspective.
I have only seen talent like that from youngsters when they have had an autistic spectrum disorder which means they can naturally disappear into their own world and give 100% concentration to the task of replicating very acurately what they see. They tend to also be very good with vehicles and buildings (more so than natural scenes) and understand perspective when other kids are struggling with much more basic drawing techniques.
Was Paul like that or just a regular kid?
there are so many new words nowadays, but Special is what I see
yes some terrific photos , drawings and paintings in this thread
lovely stuff !!
well ,
apart from that Southern geezer in the swimming pool with the mutton chop sideburns.....
You are very warm mate ,, he had a 100% one track mind he would travel down ,, he was even more stubborn than me ( and thats saying something ) he would only draw what he wanted , nothing else , we got him into college to study art later on , he lasted about 2 days because they wanted him to draw a wide spectrum of things and he was not going down that route.Originally Posted by Looper
I spent hours trying to get him to paint with me , but to no avail , he would just mess about .
I have a picture somewhere of a bowl of fruit he drew for his Nan when he was about 4 , this was in colour a rarity for him and the shadow strength and directions were incredible ,, if I can find it I will scan it and put it up for you .
Just as well you couldn't see me DM's waiting for me by the poolOriginally Posted by blue

These drivers eye views are quite good when stoned, I have two DVDs
Diesel locos are characterless and fuckin offensive.
Real locos run on steam. Coal. Get that? DIRTY COAL.
Suck it up.

FF if you think these magnificent machines have no character then you are suffering from some form of aesthetic blindness.
