^^ I was there at that game and it was amazing how Satts continued on.
They certainly made them tough in those days.
Three other great players there also Bob Macarthy, Michael Cleary and John ONeil and from memory.
For Me:
Wales' Grand Slam win against france in 1978.
Hagler Hearns watching it live was stunning.
Gascoignes goal at Wembley
Wales England at Wembley
The two Sydney tests of the All Blacks Tour of Australia in 1988.
Ricky Villa, and still Ricky Villa.
Viv Richards' hundred against Glamorgan in 1980.
Michael Owen vs Argentina
I was about 9 years old at the time, my dad was always trying to get me to settle on a team to support, not forcing me, just buying me stuff for different clubs etc to see who I chose. I went to a friends house to watch that match. Ive supported them ever since.
Ricky Villa
The Geek Shall Inherit The Earth
Late starter, eh? I was born near Luton sadly and had no choice in the matter.

Flew from Thailand to London be be at Wembley for Gazza's goal.
^^Not really, I always played footy and watched it since I could walk. I had a month or 2 Liverpool phase, then another team for a bit, then Notts Forest etc but none of them took my fancy. My dad wasnt gutted when he found out but he's from oop north so he was probably hoping Id be a Sunderland fan, sorry dad I dont do stripes.
1998 FIFA World Cup Final. France 3 Brazil 0
Wales 1-0 Germany
The year after they won Italia 90. One of the best German sides in recent times were humbled by an Ian Rush half volley.
In the West Stand at the old Arms Park. Quality night!
David Pleat's celebration when Luton beat Man City at Maine Road to stay up.
Not a fan of either side but quality viewi
Not a top sporting moment, more of a low, but imo a significant one, as it heralded the complete finish of one of the greatest heavy weight boxers of all time.
The crossbar challenge
I remember watching that round at my mates house in the early hours after a Saturday night out! None of us could believe what we were seeing. Tyson was a complete animal but that is what made him so exciting when he first came on the scene and was knocking people out for fun! Raw!
I'd travel 70kms with some mates to the next town down the road that had a pub that was showing it, we could not believe what we were seeing either, the decline of a once great.Originally Posted by Super Swan

Jesus.....you have to give credit to anyone who got into the ring with him when he was like that
Scary!
Very sad.

Sorry to say this Nick, but darts is not a sport. It's just a pub game.
Clay/Ali taking the world title from Sonny Liston. The first world title fight i ever watched. I was 10 years old and the impression it made on me lives to this day.
Mate, I love his work as much as the next aussie, but I think it's stretching the truth a bit to call him a true sportsman.Originally Posted by chassamui

That stuff is all part of his "character" KW. It makes him more real life to ordinary people because he makes mistakes like the rest of us.
I have read nothing but praise for him from his fellow professionals regarding his sportsmanship and the encouragement of young cricketers, and the way he plays the game as it is meant to be played. He has shown hmour, compassion and genuine skill at his craft, in an age when sport has become merely functional and "win at all costs".
(NO i am not gay and i don't fancy him. I just admire the best.)
No video or anything, the words are good enough
