^^ I was there at that game and it was amazing how Satts continued on.

They certainly made them tough in those days.

Three other great players there also Bob Macarthy, Michael Cleary and John ONeil and from memory.

I was about 9 years old at the time, my dad was always trying to get me to settle on a team to support, not forcing me, just buying me stuff for different clubs etc to see who I chose. I went to a friends house to watch that match. Ive supported them ever since.

As a child I supported Martin Peters because my brother hated him.

The day he signed for Spurs in 1970 I guess I became a Spurs supporter.

^^Not really, I always played footy and watched it since I could walk. I had a month or 2 Liverpool phase, then another team for a bit, then Notts Forest etc but none of them took my fancy. My dad wasnt gutted when he found out but he's from oop north so he was probably hoping Id be a Sunderland fan, sorry dad I dont do stripes.

I remember watching that round at my mates house in the early hours after a Saturday night out! None of us could believe what we were seeing. Tyson was a complete animal but that is what made him so exciting when he first came on the scene and was knocking people out for fun! Raw!

I'd travel 70kms with some mates to the next town down the road that had a pub that was showing it, we could not believe what we were seeing either, the decline of a once great.

Mate, I love his work as much as the next aussie, but I think it's stretching the truth a bit to call him a true sportsman.

That stuff is all part of his "character" KW. It makes him more real life to ordinary people because he makes mistakes like the rest of us.
I have read nothing but praise for him from his fellow professionals regarding his sportsmanship and the encouragement of young cricketers, and the way he plays the game as it is meant to be played. He has shown hmour, compassion and genuine skill at his craft, in an age when sport has become merely functional and "win at all costs".
(NO i am not gay and i don't fancy him. I just admire the best.)
