Who will win the World Cup?

OK, it's only a few weeks away, so we need to get our thinking caps on and predict the winner of this year's World Cup.

    Germany
A World Cup too soon for a promising group of young players, but they do have a knack of getting much further than they should. Last time a very poor team made it to the final.
    Odds: 8/1

    England
Despite having more than their fair share of world class players, England have failed to gel recently. It's now or never with the current crop of superstars.
    Odds: 11/2

    Argentina
They have yet to get past the quarter-finals in the post-Maradona era, and it is hard to see them winning this time. Unless of course, Riquelme is consistently brilliant and Messi catches fire. Still likely to play some wonderfully attractive stuff.
    Odds: 8/1

    Holland
Finished five points clear at the top of a group that included the Czech Republic and Romania. Crucially, the Dutch beat the Czech Republic twice. This shows the quality in a Dutch side that most predict will struggle to make it to the semis. An outside bet.
    Odds: 14/1

    Portugal
Portugal still boast plenty of talented players but are unlikely to equal their Euro 2004 exploits. The perenial bottlers.
    Odds: 20/1

    Italy
After two disappointing tournaments Italy will be determined to make their mark in Germany. If they gel they are capable of going all the way, but they were shite in qulifying.
    Odds: 15/2

    Czech Republic
With their talent they could beat anybody, but can they cope with such high expectations? Ranked at number 2 in the world, so they've got a lot to live up to. Then again, the US are ranked at number 4 and they're going nowhere.
    Odds: 25/1

    Brazil
Even losing in the final will be seen as failure. Living up to such expectations will not be easy. They all have European experience, but so did the majority in 1998. With their talent the status of favourites is clearly justified and win or lose, there should be some moments of magic to cherish. Brazil don't seem to win in Europe, so lets hope they continue this worthy tradition.
    Odds: 11/4 fav

    France
Last chance for the old gang to hit the heights, but they will fall short. Let's hope for a repeat of last time where they caught an early flight home.
    Odds: 10/1

    Spain
Aragones has added muscle to Spain's silky skills but, as has been said so many times before, while they have the talent it is a question of whether they can convert it into results.
    Odds: 12/1

Only 10 poll options so quit your moaning if your team hasn't been included.

Possibly Portugal - they have got something to prove, especially after England tried to nick their manager.

Man, I gotta learn more about this. I'm picking England cause they speak real English and don't appear to be favored to win it all.

I'd go for Brazil or Argentina - Ronaldhino and Riquelme key players for both sides respectively. Anyone for Trinidad and Tobago?

It will be either Germany or Argentina. Argentina are in great form at the moment and to be honest over due a world cup win. Germany are at home and so have a good chance. England however will be lucky to make the last four with the injuries we have at the moment.

I'll go for Italy, as non-European teams never win in Europe.

    I'd prefer Ingerland of course.

Just can't see past Brazil. I didn't think England would win before but if Rooney isn't fit they have no chance.

Personally I will be supporting Trinidad.

I gotta go with Brazil as well, and America to finish higher than Oz, but America got a tough draw.
