Brings the 2 eccentrics to the pitch.

Not bad first and second drops to have in a team. It's not just me saying this pitch is a joke, the cricket media is piling on now too asking why such a dead and flat-track was prepared for this Test. Hopefully they'll sort that out before the next match, we need pitches where getting anything over 250 or 300 runs takes a lot of skill and a draw is unlikely.

So for those with any understanding of both Cricket and sports betting, Pakistan are paying 140.00 for the win, Oz 22.00, and the draw is 1.04. Australia should be 140.00 to win too, unless they're going to somehow set a decent lead by lunch then bowl the Pakis out for next to nothing on a dead-flat batsmans dream of a pitch before the close of play today, which is impossible. Well it would be impossible if Pakistan wasn't involved in the game, but it's quite obvious that he Bookies aren't game to take bets against them throwing it.

New cricket laws ban shining balls with saliva and emphasise Mankads as 'legitimate' dismissals

    1. The colloquial term Mankad, named after Indian cricketer Vinoo Mankad, refers to a bowler running out the batsman at the non-striker's end when the batsman leaves his crease before the bowler's delivery stride is finished.
    2. making new batters come in at the striker's end even if the batters cross during a catch
    3. no bowler or player can use saliva to help shine the ball.

Good grief that's the first time in 13 attempts England have got past 300 in a test innings.

My dad was 70 this week and he had a cake as well. He could play 30 years ago too.

Big Viv was shown on the same reel.

    Let my dad enjoy it.

This post was most definitely sponsored by Heineken last night.

When England are 150 plus for 1 down though, you know the pitch is crap.

173 for 1 now. 150 partnership between Crawley and Root.

Mark Butcher was talking about the pitch "playing up" before.

Not much evidence of that, but with a lead already of over 100 it could still get interesting with the pressure on the Windies batsmen.

England are well and truly being England.

Edit: I didn't realise it was the last day, so maybe a touch harsh on England.

    WI need 286 to win.

Convicts declare after about an hours play. 9/556

Pakis are 4/67 after 27 overs

Maybe this is the match Australia finally ask a country to follow on!

Pakis all out for 148, best partnership was for the last wicket!

Aussies lead by 408 ... and haven't enforced the follow-on

The mighty mighty England well in the driver's seat in the 2nd test against the West Indies.

341/3 coming up to lunch on day 2 with Root not out on 146 and Stokes on 68.

Joe Root's 25th test century and Stokes is pinging it everywhere.

    135th over: England 443-6 (Foakes 12, Woakes 7)

With Stokes out, it’s safe for Veerasammy Permaul to come out from behind the sofa.
He replaces Joseph and starts round the wicket to Foakes, who pushes a single down the ground.

That’s the first of three singles in the over, and yes I did miss the other two.

There’s only half an hour until tea so I doubt England are going to declare now, though I’m sure they will in the evening session.

I miss the days of Allan Border’s Australia batting until lunch on day three, crushing every last particle of hope in the opposition (also known in most cultures as England).

Mental disintegration ain’t what it used to be.

Permaul has an unusual bowling action.

Riveting over from England ...1.. so that's one run from the over

Brathwaite is a more conventional spin bowler.

England doubles their scoring rate 1...1. so that's two runs from the over

Hey, not every team can make every game a thriller like Australia.

Anyway, Mark Wood has withdrawn from the tour and the IPL with an elbow injury, Craig Overton was unavailable for the first test due to exhaustion, Ollie Robinson's lack of fitness, obvious in the Ashes, has kept him out.

Great idea leaving Anderson and Broad out. Not like they're proven performers or anything.

^ The time zone isn't favourable for me to watch.

Are you confident that England can win?

I don't think anyone can be confident of England overseas at the moment - including in Ireland.

    Anyway, Stuart Broad for captain!

Brilliant player, massively experienced, speaks well, knows the game inside out and he's disliked by the aussies.

In other words he ticks all the boxes.
