On that evidence...sometimes it is...but he is still top of the bowlers list.Originally Posted by Wally Dorian Raffles

OZ abc are reporting that M Johnson is out of the sydney test with a hamstring injury.
He was carrying that in Melbourne.Originally Posted by reddog

Now 326 for 2 with Captan Smith 74 not out.
Indian bowling is shit, even making Watto look good.
It is a very flat wicket and the ball is not swinging. Nothing to support the Indian bowlers.
348 for 2 at the end of the days play with Smith on 82 and Watson on 61 not out.
At stumps...

At least they finally got their overs in.
Warner doing what Hayden made famous........
I really wished you'd never picked the c**t again.....
He's got a long way to go to achieve that, a one year run of form doesn't make greatness, but the speed at which he scores can put a team in a winning position after day one, same as Hayden used to.
I was always happy when he and Johnson were out of the team against us.
it was a magical era which is not likely to be repeated.
If Oz won the toss the top order would a few run a ball centuries and Gilly would come to the crease at 5/340 odd and traumatize already dispirited bowlers.
If we lost the toss Warnie and McGrath would have them skittled by Tea or 8 for not very many at stumps.
And in either case come day 4 you are looking at a massive deficit and 8 sledging, yapping Aussies all in the slips cordon.
It was...there is a quality test match in Wellington at present between Sri Lanka and NZ. They posted the lists of world top ranked batsmen and bowlers...there were two Aussie bowlers, THREE Kiwi bowlers, two Aussie batsmen, two Kiwi batsmen, two Sri Lankan bowlers and batsmen as well. You can take the team rankings with a grain of salt, the players list is current, and the Kiwi talent is very young, roll on the next series against out quiet cousins over the ditch.Originally Posted by Necron99

Captain Smith gets his 4th ton of the series.
Smith really has risen to the occassion...... averaging 173 at this moment.....
Is he challenging Cook's record of most consecutive games with a hundred when taking the captaincy?
Is this 3?....cant remember
I think it is his 4th in a row all scored in the first innings of each test.Originally Posted by Bobcock

You are correct the last 3 tests he has been captain.
OK, Cook scored hundreds in his first 5 tests as captain.
Like it will probably be for Smith they were not consecutive, he captained a two test series in Strauss' absence a while before taking over the captaincy permanently.
Smith of course will in all likelihood step down when Clarke returns.
