Went to Uni with Geoff Lawson - does that count?
Well, when I say 'with' I mean we both attended UNSW
Farewell then, Piers Moron!

Clarke is in flat spot, but he has had them before.
I think his main problem at the moment is that he can't honestly rely on anyone to score runs, it's a different savior each innings.
Doolan coming in at fiirst drop is not working. And marsh to follow......The two innings for both were identical, I don't think that's a coincidence. MArsh now has SIX ducks from 9 innings, one swallow does not a summer make. Egg back on the selectors faces....

139 runs in last in 10 innings at an average of 17 - highest score is 24.
He's a class player, and is due for a big one.
Usually does well against the saffers. Fingers crossed it's the next one.
Re: Marsh and Doolan. I expect Watson to be back for the next one. Hughes has a good record against SA too - He is in the squad. perhaps he will get another shot?
2012 was his purple patch where he averaged an amazing 106

People in Sydney came out onto the streets after hearing about the final innings batting collapse.

The series is still alive Mr.Lick.
We have been brought back to earth by the thrashing in the last test.
I was never one to jump on the 0-3 wagon, and expected the proteas to fight back.
We are not playing England after all ...
Just joking WDR. That pic was actually from a vigil in Sydney yesterday relating to the death of an Iranian asylum seeker killed in the Manus Island riots.
You've got a decent record against SA and i'm certainly looking forward to some more gritty performances in the next test, something us Brits have been starved of lately.![]()
The Saffers were stuffed in the first test and the Aussies in the second.
Sets up a brilliant scenario between the two best sides in the world.
This is what you pay money to see.
Umpires must reverse South Africa’s dodgy ball work, says Australian Test opener Dave
OPENING batsman David Warner says Australia will seek clarification from match referees over South Africa - in particular AB de Villiers - pushing the boundaries on scuffing up the ball.
Warner’s explosive comments, which come just days before the series-deciding third Test begins in Cape Town on Saturday night, allege excessive ball scuffing may be behind South Africa’s fast bowlers’ superior ability to bowl reverse swing.
Warner said South Africa’s ability to swing the old ball was one of the major differences between the two teams as South Africa levelled the series 1-1 with a 231-run victory in the second Test.
“I think it comes down to the umpires warning both teams not to throw the ball into the wicket which you generally try and do,” Warner told Sky Sports Radio.
“They did it better than what we did, or more obvious than what we did. At the end of the day it comes down to who can do that the best and work on the ball.
“We worked on the ball a lot in England and we got the ball to reverse a lot there and we got the ball reversing a little at home and this time it just didn’t work for us because the outfield was probably a little bit moist under the ground and day one it was obviously quite hard to get it to go reverse as well.
“That’s what happens in the game. You have to try and work out how to do that. Sometimes that happens.”
The 27-year-old said the Australian team will particularly make umpires aware of South African wicket keeper AB de Villiers potentially overworking the ball.
“We were actually questioning whether or not AB de Villiers would get the ball in his hand and with his glove wipe the rough side every ball,” he said.
“That’s another thing we have to try and bring up with the umpires.”
Meanwhile, Warner says all-rounder Shane Watson’s chances of being fit to bowl in the third Test are improving – as are his chances of being selected.
“I’m pretty sure he’s running at 100 per cent at the moment and he’s doing everything right to put his hand up for selection.”

Pretty daft think for warner to say in public. But that's our Davey ....
He really is a thick twat isn't he.....
Yes....![]()
Sounds like sour grapes. All teams do it - though it wasn't long ago the saffers were caught doing it blatantly. Remember the trouser zipper incident ?
Has their ever been a cricketer dumber than this guy?Originally Posted by Bobcock

Maybe not, by Australian sporting standards cricketrs are probably the cleverest of the lot.....
^^ sreesanth?? Did some pretty stupid stuff on and off the field , then when his career was taking off again , he got caught for match fixing!
But yes, warner is a thicko. I wouldn't be surprised if Boof sends him out to the media knowing he will say something stupid enough to take the focus off the team's woes. Not sure if Davey would understand what all the fuss is about though. It kind of helps him be a better player. Just 'doesn't get it' and plays his natural game with a clear ( or empty? ) mind.

The problem is that the Yob is Australian, so he thinks it's his God given right to whinge about everything even when it's exactly the same for both sides...
Yes, as they proved against England, they are a well oiled war machine that's willing to plummet to any depths for the cause...
Aren't kangaroos just utterly pointless vermin, like big rats really.
