Men's College World Series championship series set: Tennessee vs. Texas A&M schedule

The Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas A&M Aggies will face off in the 2024 Men's College World Series championship, a best-of-three series that begins Saturday. Both SEC powerhouses are looking for their first NCAA Tournament championship in school history.

Both Tennessee and Texas A&M went undefeated (3-0) in the round-robin and punched their tickets to the championship series by way of impressive wins – Tennessee downed Florida State 7-2 on Wednesday, while Texas A&M defeated Florida 6-0.

Tennessee and Texas A&M did not play each other during the regular season, but the two squads did face off during the SEC tournament in late May. Tennessee defeated the Aggies 7-4 en route to the SEC tournament title.

Men's College World Series Finals: Tennessee bats come alive to force a decisive Game 3 vs. Texas A&M

No team scored more runs in Division I college baseball than Tennessee did in 2024. But the Volunteers couldn't break through until the seventh inning against Texas A&M in Game 2 of the College World Series Finals on Sunday.

Left fielder Dylan Dreiling hit a two-run home run off Kaiden Wilson for a 2–1 lead. Catcher Cal Stark added his own two-run shot in the eighth to increase Tennessee's lead to 4–1 that held up as the final score.

Texas A&M and Tennessee play a decisive Game 3 of the 2024 Division I NCAA baseball championship on Monday at 7 p.m. ET. The broadcast will be televised on ESPN.

Vols force a decisive Game 3 at Omaha's Charles Schwab Field on Monday night at 7 p.m. ET. Tennessee will attempt to become the first No. 1 national seed since Miami in 1999 (when the NCAA baseball tournament's current format was first introduced) to win the College World Series.

College World Series highlights: Tennessee tops Texas A&M for first baseball national title

Tennessee defeated Texas A&M 6-5 in the Men’s College World Series championship series winner-take-all game to capture the team’s first national championship in school history. The Volunteers with its 60th win became the first college baseball team to reach that mark since Wichita State won the title in 1989.
