They do not play in MLB. Easy for you, its like the EPL. Our Nuts are like division 3.

You watch the All Star game? I stopped watching any All Star game in any sport because they don't show up to play. It's actually pretty pathetic. That said, it is a great for kids to go see live and get autographs and buy memorabilia.

Giants 2.5 games back. Not a bad spot to be at the break.

Anyway, just what sort of name is "Lugnuts"? I mean, Braves, Eagles, those I can get behind, they suggest ambition. But Lugnuts? Is there a reason? We should be told.

When Lansing's new team announced that they would go by the "Lugnuts" for their 1996 debut season in Michigan, the fan response was.... well, "ambivalent" might be a kind way of putting it. A poll in the Lansing State Journal revealed that 90% of fans "strongly disliked" the name, which was designed to honor the city's automotive history as the hometown of Ransom E. Olds (of the Oldsmobile).

My Nuts were in imperious form last night. They thrashed the hapless West Michigan Whitecaps 8-1!

They play them again tonight and tomorrow.
