Good win for RBL against Atletico, two very competitive teams with no quarter given. As Brucie would say, "good game, good game".
Was a shame to see Atalanta knocked out.
Hopefully anyone bar a business franchise ran by a sheikh with dodgy FFP, now.
Well, yes.
Their first shirt sponsor, a few years ago, UNICEF, Barca paid them (1 mill a season) iirc.
Now that's a club.
They've blown that credibility pretty spectacularly since then, though.
^ like many UN orgs (home to droves of overpaid entitled civil servants), although Barca without Messi are fairly ordinary away from home.
It's just been said on BT Sport that Barca have spent more than 800 million quid since Neymar left and they're still reliant on Messi bailing them out.
Have you been moonlighting, Ed?
There is a lot of money sloshing around chasing a lack of quality. Considering the economic backdrop we face its embarrassing looking at the continued transfer market - they don't seem to have understood in the top flight yet. They certainly do lower down where it won't surprise me if we see clubs decimated through lack of gate receipts. Sad times ahead i fear but perhaps a new dawn for supporter run clubs.
^ yep although the scouts were probably overpaid like agents. Its still all about the owners, trouble is they are owned by people who can afford to own them as a hobby, no consideration for the little people who really are what it should be about. I truly wish we'd have a re-think but of course money speaks and its long past the time when football's elite cared about fans, they have recordings and can play them to cover the silence now.
Ozil's had an interesting week.
Well that's a whole lot different to the Athletico game - game on.
There's quite a few players who do well when they leave Arse - well done Serge, was a grafter and looks great.
Who's playing Munich in he next round?
^ I think Chitty will to need buy another reduced price octopus and watch the game through its blurter.
If you think Messi has humiliated Setien and his staff in the past...
...stay tuned for the latest episode. It will most certainly be the last one.
Fuck me
Barca losing 8-2.
Now where have we seen that score before?
That's almost as embarrassing as Arsenal and Spurs not having one single European Cup between them.
