It's also lovely to see Millwall staring relegation in the face. Wankers!

not sure what's happened to Millwall now as they did well last season.

1-1 , oh well guess you can't call me a kunt - a draw's ok at the wrong end of the table - every point helps...

    next match Saturday......away game

Saturday's results were a bit shitty (well, for me anyway).

    Cardiff 2 - 0 Southampton

    Ipswich 1 - 0 Luton

    Preston 3 - 0 Coventry

    And now on to Monday:-

    Coventry 2 - 0 Wolves

    Luton 1 - 2 Cheating Shitford

    Reading 5 - 1 Cardiff (Oooops)

certainly puts our lot in proper perspective.
Should at least be safe from relegation though.

Liverpool last played Luton in the FA Cup in a third round second replay at Kenilworth Road on 28 January 1987.
Both clubs were enjoying successful spells - Liverpool had won the Double the previous season, while unfashionable Luton were on their way to a seventh-place finish in the top-flight, their best ever.
Two previous meetings had failed to produce a goal so the Reds travelled down to Luton again on 28 January - and were thumped 3-0 thanks to goals from Brian Stein, Mick Harford and a Mike Newell penalty.
But what happened to the players that lined up all those years ago?

    Luton Town
Manager - John Moore Spent just one season as manager but later coached the club's youth team, bringing through the likes of John Hartson and Mark Pembridge. Currently coaching pupils at Bedford Modern School.

Les Sealey Hugely popular and extrovert keeper who spent seven years at Luton before helping Manchester United win the 1990 FA Cup. After retiring he briefly coached at West Ham before dying of a heart attack in 2001, aged 43.

Tim Breacker Later played for West Ham and ended his career with QPR before moving into coaching with the Hoops. Now Ian Holloway's assistant manager at Loftus Road.

Steve Foster Won three England caps but was better known for his trademark white headband. Now works in insurance, selling policies to professional footballers through the PFA.

Mal Donaghy Finished his career with Chelsea in 1994 and had a spell as assistant manager of Irish League side Cliftonville before becoming coach of the Northern Ireland Under-19 side.

Rob Johnson Became a physiotherapist after ending his playing career. Worked at Bedford Hospital before joining Sheffield Wednesday, and now works for the English Institute of Sport in Yorkshire.

Ricky Hill Managed Luton for five months in 2000 - but has been unable to find a job in this country since and recently spoke out about the lack of opportunities for black managers.

Peter Nicholas Had a nomadic playing career and his time as a coach has followed a similar path with spells at Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Barry Town, Swansea City and Newport AFC. Now in charge of Welsh Premier side Llanelli.

Ashley Grimes Teamed up with his former Manchester United team-mate Joe Jordan to coach at Stoke and Celtic, and also worked at Huddersfield with Lou Macari until he was sacked in 2002.

Brian Stein Arrived in the UK at the age of seven when his family fled the apartheid regime in South Africa. Spent 12 years playing for Luton and is now back at the club as assistant manager.

Mick Harford Much-travelled hardman who moved into coaching with Luton, Nottingham Forest and Swindon before becoming Rotherham manager in April 2005. He was sacked by the Millers last month.

Mike Newell Moved into management with Hartlepool on the recommendation of Alan Shearer in 2002, and was controversially elected as Luton boss by a phone vote in 2003. Also runs a restaurant.

    Liverpool

Manager - Kenny Dalglish Won the title three times in his first five years in charge at Liverpool and also won the Premiership with Blackburn in 1995. A stint at Newcastle was less successful and his last job in the game was an ill-fated spell as Celtic's director of football in 1999/2000.

Bruce Grobbelaar Bankrupted by legal action to clear his name over match-fixing allegations in 1994. His coaching career in South Africa failed to take off but he still recently declared he would one day return to manage Liverpool.

Mark Lawrenson Briefly managed Oxford and Peterborough after retiring and had stints as an agent and running a pub before becoming Newcastle's defensive coach under Kevin Keegan. A BBC pundit since 1997.

Gary Gillespie Scottish centre-back who left Anfield in 1991 to join Celtic but now returns every week in his role as match summariser for BBC Radio Merseyside.

    Alan Hansen
Scottish international defender, who won 13 major trophies in 14 years with Liverpool before retiring in 1991 at the age of 35. Hansen joined the BBC Match of the Day team in 1992 and has been a fixture alongside anchorman Gary Lineker ever since.

Barry Venison Worked as a pundit for ITV from 1997 until 2002 - usually wearing a garish outfit. Now a property developer in California - and also runs a website auctioning sporting memorabilia for charity.

Ronnie Whelan Whelan eventually left Liverpool in 1994 for Southend, who he later managed. Also had spells in charge of Panionos in Greece and Olympiakos Nicosia in Cyprus. Now an after-dinner speaker.

Jan Molby Has had mixed fortunes in management - took Kidderminster into the Football League but was less successful when he returned to the club after being sacked by Hull, and resigned in October 2004.

John Wark A film star in Escape To Victory, Wark ended his playing career with Ipswich in 1997 aged 39 and still works at Portman Road as a corporate entertainer on match days.

Craig Johnston Quit the game aged 27 to look after his sick sister in Australia and later ran a TV production company in Dublin before launching the revolutionary Predator football boot in 1994. His latest footwear creation is called The Pig and he describes himself as a photographer and inventor.

Paul Walsh Involved in property development since retiring but has also worked in football as a pundit, agent and as an ambassador abroad for Fifa.

Ian Rush Liverpool's record goalscorer coached the club's strikers under Gerard Houllier but his own management career saw him last just seven months in charge of Chester last season.

You're a bird, so your opinion about sport isn't valid. Just like mine isn't valid about domestic duties.

Some good news for us lot...

Rangers manager Alex McLeish has acknowledged that Steven Thompson is likely to leave Ibrox for Cardiff City.

McLeish had said on Friday that he would not be allowed to leave until Dado Prso returned to fitness.

But on Saturday he told BBC Scotland: "I can't confirm the deal has been done, but it does look as though Steven is leaving."

Thompson joined Rangers from Dundee United in January 2003 but never established himself as a regular.

Ahh, but we've also signed this striker cos Michael Ricketts is going back to Leeds...

Cardiff City have signed Darlington's Congo-born striker Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old's short-term contract at the Quakers is up and he turned down a new deal to join the Bluebirds to the end of the season.

The Congolese has scored 11 times this season, with five in five games.

looking forward to next Saturday now - more interested in the league really as relegation avoidance is always the issue with Coventry (whatever division)....still another FA cup game's good for the ride...

tricky game coming up on the 14th - away to Reading...

went there once though a couple of years ago - nice ground and we won (Reading 1 - 2 Coventry)

a repeat is on the cards!

Luton have lost the plot a bit recently. But, no worries, we've had a great debut season in the Championship so far.

Missed commenting on this thread but that was indeed a fine weekend for the only people on here that could give a rat's arse about CL soccer.
