500 up. Wont be long before the poms will need to bat. Bring on 20 wickets.
Just hope our bowling gets more life out of the wicket than theirs. Would rather not see a draw.
Is this the same Clarke whose praises you were singing this morning Wally? Your loyalty is as stable as a legged dining table.Originally Posted by Wally Dorian Raffles

Was hoping Smith got past Bradmans 254, but not to be,then i thought Nevill would make 50 on debut and Clarke would declare but Nevill out on 45 and they are still batting. like to see the poms in today and lose a couple.

The Joy of : great England batting collapses
183 for two to 194 all out, v West Indies, World Cup final, Lord's, 23 June 1979
The English have never had much compunction about tarnishing the grandest occasions with demonstrations of their failings: there are drunken punch-ups at weddings, the Queen's speech, and this very special World Cup final collapse. When it started England were 183 for two chasing 287, but a ponderous opening partnership between Mike Brearley and Geoff Boycott had ultimately left them needing to score 104 runs from 13 overs: fine in this Twenty20 age; a minor miracle back then. Especially in the gloaming, with Joel Garner's yorker from hell coming seemingly from the heavens.

Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
Poor start even allowing for Johnsons illegal throwing action.
Will give a link to the cricket club i used to play for.
Believe it or not when sober enough i played cricket, made it to captain also sat on the committee.

I guess the Aussie cricket side spoke for me yesterday but tomorrow's first session is crucial.
They certainly did. England batting really needed, after a couple loitering around on their feet, to block, leave, block, leave, block until the next morning when they had had a rest. Aus bowlers set the trap and they fell right into it. Great Aussie bowling performance turning a sows ear of a wicket into a silk purse.
I hope you have money on it pseudopuss.
I had to do a double take this morning.
WtF!?

The follow on is rarely enforced these days anyway.
Still 16 wickets needed. Hopefully England can show a bit more durability today.
Yep...nobody wants to bat last...anywhereOriginally Posted by cyrille
