An interesting article on the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) now enforced in rookie contracts.
Show Him the Money - Son of Washington
Nice article ... I'm still not sure exactly how I feel about it. One thought that came to mind is college players need to understand this before they elect to come out early. And in this day and age the wannabe NFL running backs need to see how de-valued their position is becoming.
This article caught my eye. Especially the guy at Skins practice saying "too bad [Alfred Morris] will never get paid."
You are more in tune with the game than I, but it was noted that running backs can be found for a cheaper price and Shanahan is apparently good at finding good value for a lower price.
And as noted, how long do running backs last? Not long at all.
Morris signed a 4 year $2.2 mill deal (forgot the signing bonus amount) as prescribed in the CBA.
As for going for younger running backs with cheaper value, we see this in Robinson of the Seahawks getting cut yesterday. No surprise, and it frees up $1 million in free cap space (and his $2.5 mill per year this year was very pricey for a full back).
Where is that at stores? The UW is the better school by far WSU is more known as a party school. UW is also bigger. Here in Seattle cougs are far in the minority.
UW a top college says Forbes, WSU falls far below - Local - MyNorthwest.com
On the Wazzu note, I don't follow the Cougers but they are playing USC next week down there and I'd like watch it.
UW at Illinois.
Super Bowl in MetLife Stadium this year. Appropriate to call it the Snow Bowl.
Redskins have good shot to win it all.
I think the Skins will win around 8-9 games.
I still believe that RGIII can only be a pocket passer, and that using the Read Option will accelerate his leaving the NFL. Some disagree with me, but I don't see RGIII lasting long in the NFL. I wish him the best of luck, though.
Washington vs. Philly will be the first Monday Night Football game, in 6 days. Looking forward to it.
^ Lot of Huskies in the NFL, and they had a period of several quarterbacks as well.
Here are some highlights from the over-the-top NFL marketing hoopla with the Balitmore - Denver game.
The first game was pretty much a blowout. I would have though Carolina would have done much better, but maybe the high altitude got to them. Maybe it was the lightning that delayed the start of the game.
Either way Payton was on his game and I am glad I was not playing against him this week in FF.
You mean Baltimore. The Seahawks play Carolina on Sunday.Originally Posted by rickschoppers
Yeah, it was Baltimore and although Manning did well, the Baltimore secondary suuuucked. Safety, Huff is getting a lot of heat.
And as for the Brazilian Bikini thing, thanks, SK. Nothing wrong with some tail.
Here is another sad NFL marketing ploy. A message to the NFL: please just shut the f*ck up. Spare us.
Here is TV / radio c*nt Ryan Seacret getting booed! Why this c*nt is in here I don't know. Perhaps some 23 year old "marketing guru" had a hand in it:
I'm cold on NFL football but I watched a couple games yesterday.
Seahawks vs. Panthers.
RW impressive as usual, although in the first half he seemed to be running around a lot to save his life and the O-line looked weak in protecting him and with the run. Very low yardage on the ground. I think the average was 2.something per carry.
I hope Browner and Avril are back next week on defense.
I also watched the 49ers vs. Packers and Kaep (and Boldin) were eating massive yardage up in the air and Gore was doing that on the ground. The Niners offense is scary. I think they had possession of the ball for 37-38 minutes. Kaep and the offense did not do the Read Option (except for 1-2 times) and he stayed in the pocket almost all of the time.
Being at homefield the Seahawks will have that advantage (and noise with the Guiness Book of World Records attending to record noise levels), but if SF is as hot as they were last week, I think the Seattle secondary will make it a great game to watch.
Seattle O-line does not look good though.
Tonight the Skins and Eagles, and as I'm tired of the RGIII and Dr. Andrews attention whoring and soap opera, I'd like to see Vick and the up-tempo offense beat Washington.
