It is very good indeed. The Wire has received critical acclaim for its realistic portrayal of urban life and uncommonly deep exploration of sociological themes, and has been called the best show on television by TIME, Entertainment Weekly,The Guardian, the Chicago Tribune, Slate, the San Francisco Chronicleand the Philadelphia Daily News. Despite the positive reviews, the show has failed to draw a large audience.
They are going to make a fifth series which will be the last.
ok I am giving it a try
but your horrible taste in TV are noted
Be sure to watch them in order.Originally Posted by Butterfly

This is quality stuff that necessitates concentration, not cartoon trash like 24.
I get a headache from watching The West Wing. So I guess it might not be for me.
Can somebody pls advise on Prison Break, first if it's worth downloading, then, I have found several season 1 complete torrents, for 12 - 22 episodes and sized from 3.85 - 13.95 gb. I have gone for 22 episodes (7.50 gb) though it may be fewer actual episodes with pilots and other bits.
Can't seem to find a healthy season 2 torrent, but don't expect to be watching s1 for a while so no hurry.

^ Enjoyable in a crappy, suspend disbelief, sort of way.
Hope it's a bit more plausible than 24.
very less.
a load of poop.
^ Gotta love "T-Bag" though
Someone has just lent me a load of DVDs of Oz.
Is it any good?

Prison Break is fucking boring, couldn't finish Episode 1
maybe it's a good recommendation for some
I actually didn't mind the first half of the first series.
it seemed like a decent idea.
It has just got worse and worse.
Nowhere near as bad as the awful 24 but quite a lot bad.
Battlestar Galactica the new one not the cheesy old one, it's pretty good even if you'r not into si-fi, quite dark really. I've been watching it from that link off MrsQ.
Time magazine declared in the spring of 2005 that the new show was one of the six best drama programs on television. It would proclaim the program the best show on television in December of the same year. The American Film Institute named the show to its list of the ten best shows on television. Other mainstream publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Rolling Stone magazine, and Newsday also named the series one of the best on television for 2005. In 2006, the series won a prestigious Peabody Award in recognition of its creative excellence.

I've got series 2 of Black Books to watch, so that should be fun.
Then I'll have a gander at Oz, but I'll not bother with DVDs 2 & 3 if its as bad as everyone reckons.
I had a neighbor that had done some time, we kinda recognized one another, walk talk and the like. We got to be friends. He loved the show, I often asked him, "Why? Do you miss the joint?" It put me back inside. Never really like it for that reason.
The intrigue, drama and "counseling" all are as accurate as I've ever seen, more so than most documentaries; one of the actors is/was a NYC HA that has done a few years. I really hated to watch the show. Was too fucking real.
But you want to know if it's entertaining? Who knows what the fuck an "Englishman" will watch? After all, you did give us Benny Hill, didn't you?
OZ wasn't bad, I knew a couple of the actors in it(we had the same dealer) it can be a little predictable at times but i think its worth a watch.
ive got some torrent download questions for the experts out there thanks for your help in advance.....
im downloading the thai girl documentry right now no problem small file 1.5 hrs...
i understand the set up and download proccess BUT??????
my question is how long after the download is complete can i do something with the downloaded file ??? does'nt it have too seed before i can do something with the downloaded file?? then what watch it on windows media or windamp????...can i copy it too dvd???
the reason i ask is i downloaded a 2.5gb (ghost rider) movie file took 6hrs then after 2days of seeding i gave up... maybe this smaller file will work better for me...do you really need too leave your computer on for 2-3days at a time to download a whole movie file correctly...???? that sounds very UNSAFE virus wise IMHO....thanks for your help again guys let me know if im doing this download torrent thing right or wrong...cheers....

You can do what you like with it after it's downloaded.
You can burn it or watch it while it is still uploading if you want to continue to seed it.
You can watch it as soon as it's downloaded, you don't have to wait for it to
seed. You don't even have to seed if you don't want tho' it's considered
polite to seed the torrent for a while.
You can copy to CD or DVD if you want, just make sure your
player understands the file format or use some VCD or DVD mastering
software that will do everything automatically.
If you're downloading "Bangkok Girl" I should warn you that it's
pretty crap, the narrator's got the whiniest voice I've ever heard -
sounds like Woody Allen on heroin. Only worth watching for the scumbag
sexpats (quote, "F***in' great blowjobs here, I work for an international
school").
