Dunno....never flown a plane.

Thought it was a remote control plane first....then the guy gets out.

And when the tail hits the deck rather violently to bounce the plane back forward, it leaves no visible damage to the tail plane when it lands.

Hmm... looks like he put on a massive amount of rudder and aerilon and elevator to stall and sideslip it. That would have reduced his airspeed considerably. He then just straightened it all out as you'll see immediately before it 'fell out of the sky' to land.

The landing was a bonus, he was too low to bailout so he was probably just trying to minimize the crash.
