    Meet Me Next Christmas

A soppy entry to open the books for 2024 about a lady in lurve with 2 fellas and trying to get to a Christmas Eve Pentatonix concert

Quite good fun if you are a Pentatonix Christams fan. The band members appear in the movie playing themselves.

Christina Milian is smoking hot for a 43 year old

    7/10

Bad Moms 2 (AKA A Bad Mom's Christmas)

A Christmas Sequel to Bad Mom's

It gets slated in reviews but it was quite a giggle and has quite a good cast.

    Mary

Always good to see a Nativity movie at Crimbles. This one has Anthony Hopkins as a malevolently wicked Herod. It has a spooky supernatural Gabriel and Satan too.

A lot of non-canonical nonsense in the story though and not as much fun as last years Journey To Bethlehem which had an amusing Banderas as Herod.

    The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

This plays mostly as a charming but light-hearted 1970s nostalgia comedy Crimbler about some neighbourhood naughty kids inveigling their way into the Christmas Nativity play.

But it is one of those movies where the denouement catches you by surprise with its emotional heft.

    Truly tingly.

I got my Dingle Cringle on with this tonight Reg. Thank you. Unravelled the projector screen for this one.

A pretty serviceable big budget fantasy comedy actioner about saving Christmas when things go satanically haywire on Christmas Eve.

Featuring the ageing but still lush Lucy Liu

It features Santa getting an escort from F-22s in the opening scene which was an unexpected bonus.

This movie does star MissKit's favourite walnuts-in-a-christmas-stocking muscle-bound elf.

Amidst the pagan Yule bonanza worth noting the baby Jesus never saw a single penguin, pig in blanket nor reindeer.

    Shoulda gone to specsavers!

A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas

Had never heard of these guys but their Christmas franchise installment is pretty good fun.

Danny Trejo does a good turn as Harold's imposing father in law.

    7.2/10

    The Family Man

Very nice alternate history redemption style seasonal sizzler. Surprised I had never heard of it as I think I am a Nicolas Cage fan.

The love story between Cage and Leoni is quite bewitching.

    ^Watched Surviving Christmas tonight.

Affleck is Christmas hamming it up big style in a stretched and far-fetched plot.

But always a pleasure to watch the wonderful and sadly missed James Gandolfini

Comes together quite well in the end.

A Christmas Gift From Bob 2020

Gritty poverty London town Christmas tale of a Big Issue seller and his cat named Bob and their festive adventures around trying to make a few bob busking at Crimbo

    7/10

    The Night Before 2015

Quite a funny high energy lads night out on Christmas Eve drugs and partying extravaganza. Good cast. Rewatchable.

    7.7/10

    Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas

This was rated as the worst Christmas movie ever made by several reviewers so I had to see it based on this alone. The narrator/host of the movie uses various vignettes to explain how all the pagan aspects of Christmas are actually based on biblical Christian facticity.

It is quite strange and disturbing at times but some of the vignettes are actually quite tingly

    6/10

    While You were Sleeping 1995

Retro 90's romance crimbler with an original premise about a young Sandra Bullock in lurve with a handsome bloke in a coma.

Quite an amusing caper and nice retro vibe.

    7.1/10

    Prancer 1989

Old school charmer about a girl who believes a stray wounded reindeer in her shed is Prancer from the sleigh posse.

Quite a charming performance from a 9-year-old Rebecca Harrell

Sam Elliott is good as the gruff hard-times dad.

Wow you are doing well Looper!

I know what you mean by Surviving Christmas, wife saw it for the first time and loved it.

Glad you liked the other two!

Gonna look for The night before

Have you see Christmas with the Kranks?

One should listen twice as much as one speaks

It is worth a watch, in the same vein as Harold and Kumar

I have not even heard of that one but it will be squeezed in if I have time.

    The Fitzgerald Family Christmas 2012

Family drama about an old geezer on death's door trying to get back in with his family for his last crimbles.

Quite a diverting twirl of interwoven tales from the extended family members.

    Watchable but not rewatchable.

Since I watched the Wizard of Oz every Christmas day when I was a kid and dreamt of blue winged monkeys till New Year I think I can reasonably squeeze this in here

    Wicked

I approached with trepidation as it sounded more than a tad woke from the previews.

It does seem ominously political to begin with with the black actress bringing her grievance vibration to the green witch.

But once it gets going it is quite good fun.

A shoe-in for the Golden Globes Gayest movie of the year.

It does not hurt that Galinda the good witch is a smokin cutie.

    7.8/10

The black grievance actress did not take kindly to some fan reworking of the official movie poster

I think it is an improvement on the original
