I take it you don't eat much Italian food but that's an extremely common starter called Brushetta. A few dots of balsamic vinegar on top and it's my idea of a perfect opening dish, try it next time you see it on a menu!
Yes, salmon with a white wine sauce + garlic mashed potatoe and side salad. I tried a bite of the salmon and it was beautiful, perfectly cooked too.
Lasagne. Served in clay pots seems to get more common these days in Italian restaurants but they still serve it by the slice in pubs, I don't care how it's served as long as it's good and this was great.
