Last night (hers and mine)

The plates are pretty small but don’t worry, I get my 5 a day.
No pork allowed and I don’t eat chicken, so I have to persevere.
I knew that yesterday was going to be a good day when my pastry rolled out without breaking apart too badly.

The daughter has requested one of her favourites... quiche!
So I made two, one for the freezer and one for dinner tonight.

I couldn't resist breaking into tonight's quiche, last night... there was nothing in the fridge for dinner.
I paired the quiche with my homemade mixed veg... I buy the peas and sweetcorn separately and then can mix them up on the plate!

I can't compete on the homemade front but i can add peas. I confess i went all Armstrong today; cod & kingprawn masala (fishcakes) reduced to £1.25p (a nod to Chitty), frozen peas and chips. Fukun ruvry twas.

Looks… erm good enough.
Respecto
It has something green on the plate, so is not a pale enough imitation of the armstrong school of cuisine. :D
I debated whether to post this in the Dinner thread or in the Daily Moan thread, because I have fukked up.
The daughter is home for her half term hols, that's 10 days or 9 nights/dinners, depending on how you measure it.
Tonight, Night 2... and we had braised Mediterranean style lamb shank served on a bed of mashed potato with seasonal vegetables.

And that's my problem...
https://teakdoor.com/attachment.php?...0&d=1771074204
I usually try to build up meal quality over the week... to reach my crescendo just before she leaves...
https://teakdoor.com/attachment.php?...1&d=1771074214
But I've peaked on Night 2... how can I possibly improve on this?
https://teakdoor.com/attachment.php?...2&d=1771074223
Broc certainly looks crunchy.
^^ a curry
upon further consideration i don't think you could beat peas with a steak and kidney pie
Ditch the mash and go proper chips. Fat ones done in lard.
“ But I've peaked on Night 2... how can I possibly improve on this? “
You can’t. Besides we’ve seen the slops you usually serve.
More Gravy and bacon.
Alternatively, try a Duck à l’Orange:
We prefer to roast the duck breasts in the oven, keeping it nice and pink in the middle, then slice it up a bit like this:
https://teakdoor.com/attachment.php?...d=132555&stc=1
Make an orange sauce/gravy:
30 ml sugar
60 ml red wine vinegar (or just red wine and vinegar)
300 ml chicken stock
160 ml orange juice
30 ml corn flour (Maizena)
45 ml water
Then add peas n stuff.
Oh yeah, reduce the vinegar and red wine to half before adding the rest.
Bit of a fancy dinner last night. it wasn’t until after I’d booked I realised it clashed with the rugby game. Bollocks. Saw the first half on TV and had to content myself with text updates (and a fine result too)

I mean, I'm sure that was fantastic and all, but this is the reason I keep a tin of Pringles in the car.
I was looking for the wick to light the carrot soup candle.
Nonetheless, I am partial to a bit of fine dining every once in a while.
I have my eye on a place in Bangkok called The Magic Table which I plan to treat her with next time we're up there.
The Magic Table Experience
It looks... magic, man!
Perhaps next year, en route to the Mae Hong Son Loop.
Meal and lodgings for around 15 bikers ok?
This is a great idea.
We can bathe and do laundry at the same time in your pool.
Also, we can each adopt a dog for the night the way your pack is growing.
Stock the beer fridge.
Stock the pond.
^ I'm on it!
We’ll all be on it!

I've got one of those pink flamingoes as well, didn't realise it was biker club style!
^^ he looks like he's been spit roasted the night before
We're very openminded these days.
Funnily enough, it was in the prompt, I ran it through ChatGPT (above) but also Gemini and Perplexity and 2.5/3 featured the pink flamingo.
