I was still hungry
Yeah not bad food there. Have you checked out LaSalles Avenue? They have a Wine Connection and a few other restaurants.
Some spaghetti, mushrooms and lardons with some parmigiano sprinkled ontop

Looks good, some kind of poultry with a crispy skin on a bed of mashed potato with red cabbage. Sauce/gravy also looks well made, nice gloss to it.
For some time now I've been toying with the idea of starting a thread along the lines of having a great meal out at a restaurant, and then replicating it at home. Marks would be given for closeness of replication, presentation, etc etc...
But I don't like starting new threads, so I'll stick this here.
On holiday in Dorset a few weeks ago the best meal I had was a chicken breast with bacon, in a Bree sauce. It was delicious. (note the peas on the daughter's plate... the pea doesn't fall far from the pod!)

Last week I replicated the meal by means of baking a chicken breast, topped with bacon and chopped red onion, in foil, in the trusty convection oven. I added extra interest by replacing the original chips with a baked sweet potato.
The Bree sauce was replicated by crumbling cheddar on the chicken breast towards the end of baking, combined with a dollop of mayonnaise.

With a few small refinements this could well turn into my signature dish. It really was very good.
I just wish we could get Bree in Korat.

Tops Korat have this: Ile De France Petit Brie Cheese 125g. | Tops online
It's going to cost a lot in brie to perfect that me thinks.
^ Great, the daughter has a load of Play Doh that she's way too old for.
Could be a colourful meal next week!
That sounds like it would work.
I have only had hot brie one time, in a Surf Club served with honey as a kind of avant garde dish. It was a strange affair. I don't think the honey worked but I have also heard of hot fried brie fritter type things that are supposed to be tops.
Tiny Thai Tak lady preparing dinner tonight.

She sings in Thai while she is cooking which I have not heard for years and brought back fond memories.

I sat on the sofa listening to my lullaby drowning out my tummy grumbling.

The accompaniment came out first and was a plain omelette.

The mysterious finished article was revealed in all its glory as steamed prawns with hot glass noodles with onions and pork.

A seemingly strange combination, but, served with lots of chilli and many spices that I recognised as Thai but cannot identify, it was very tasty.
She called it 'Ya Moon Sen'
I was guessing that the Moo part of Moon was pork but now I have got on the googles it seems that she was saying
Yum Woon Sen
Thai Beef Salad & Thai Glass Noodle Salad (Yum Woon Sen) - Marion's Kitchen - YouTube
I thought prawns and pork were a strange combination but it seems legit according to the interwebs
^ very good in a yam khai dao if she does requests
You've clearly not been to Thailand, have you? :)
I used to eat at a mum and daughter shop north of Bangok that was some of the best food I've ever eaten.
The occasional rat running across my feet was a given and was just something I accepted.
You need to get a passport and live a little. It adds to the flavour. :)
