That sausage looks like it had an orgasm.

Flobo must be a very good cook, most of it looks great. She would be a very popular cook on a farm or outback property cooking up food like that and the portion sizes.

    Nice meal out today at;-

    Hark To bounty

    Slaidburn Lancashire UK

Flobo went for grilled fillet of haddock
with a cheese and tomato rarebit over the top.

I decided to tuck into a nice shank of roast lamb.

A selection of vegetables, boiled potato's and chips.

    Two really nice meals.

More than welcome on such a cold day.

    "Hark To Bounty."

    A sensational place to dine.

    It has that special;-

    "You're Welcome" feeling.

^ Well, there are plenty of reasons for eating.

One has just entered my head.

If I can't eat good food whilst I'm living.
How the hell will I eat when I'm dead?

Cheers Panda and thanks for your comments.

No I didn't write it myself.

It's an old ditty they used to put on things like Blackpool novelties.

    eg ash-tray's.

Normally made out of a pot skull.

And the ditty would be at the front.

There are plenty of reasons for smoking
One has just entered my head
    If I can't have a smoke whilst I'm living
How the hell can I smoke when I'm dead.

    Similar routes taken for drinking.

The ditty on the side of a fancy tankard.

Plenty of reasons for drinking etc..

I just manipulated it for food.

    This should wet the appetite:-

We had a New Years lunch out today with all the family.

    This was an outstanding starter.

Mushrooms baked in garlic and bread crumbs,
served with strips of really tasty Goats Cheese lightly toasted.

Am I the only member who eats?

    This was nice:-

    Had a really busy week.

One of my grandsons was helping me out.

A real hard days graft for both of us, it was bitter cold outside.

Flobo made a brilliant evening dinner for us (he can eat like a horse)
she braised a few lamb chops with all sorts of bits and pieces including onions and barley, really sowly.

    It looked great.

    Really good.

Then she added some potato's and
kind of roasted them ontop of the braised meal.

She browned them off towards the end with a few of those small
    tomato's prior to serving.

    What a gorgeous meal.

    Delicious.

    Flobo roasted another of those
    Organic Corn Fed Chickens,
there's a real difference in the quality too,

Worth paying over the odds odds for the
difference in taste and the quality of the
    meat.

Two of the grandsons were down, they soon made a mess of this little lot.

We have been eating quite a few parsnips of late, they taste great roasted.

    The meal was really outstanding.

Cheers J J and Beadle, glad you like the same.

    Check these two out.

    Really nice:-

Nice Pub meals on Tuesday. (Yesterday in our neck of the woods)

    Flobo went for the above,

Haddock deep fried in a beer batter,
plus the chunky chips and mushy peas.

    She enjoyed the same.

I came across a nice serving of Bangers and Mash (Champ)
with a large runny hot fresh egg over the top,
with a few chives to compliment the same.

    Delicious.

Champ (food) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Champ (brúitín in Irish) is an Irish dish,
made by combining mashed potatoes and
chopped spring onions ("scallions") with butter
    and milk, and optionally, ...
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champ_(food) - Cached - Similar

A nice potato dish here that Flobo makes up every now and then.

    Try it out, delicious.

    Ingredients:-

    150g/5½oz new potatoes, sliced
    200ml/7fl oz double cream
salt and freshly ground black pepper
    2 garlic cloves, sliced
small handful fresh thyme, leaves only
    2 free-range egg yolks, beaten

    What to do:-

    1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.

    2. Blanch the sliced potato in a pan of
boiling salted water for five minutes
    then drain.

    3. Return the potatoes to the pan,
add double cream, salt, pepper, garlic,
thyme and stir to combine over a medium heat.

    4. Stir in the beaten egg yolks and then spoon
the mix into a gratin dish.
Place in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes
    or until golden-brown on top.

    I'll take some photographs of
these sorts of dishes if I think on.

I've placed a couple of meal items on The Lancashire thread and thought I'd transfer them to here.

    Heres one for tonight.

Thought I'd swap about a little tonight,
the work on the house and a bit of
    Flobo's cooking of late.

    Friday night last:-

She grilled some really nice pieces of plaice,
two for me and one for herself.

She also grilled a few of those very
    tasty local mushrooms,
    some small vine tomato's,
    a few baby type potatoes
which she had coated in a really
    tasty garlic paste.

Then she sprinkled them with a few chives.

    Another brilliant meal, so tasty.

From The Lancashire thread, to wet the appetites:-

Flobo was busy with a chicken yesterday.

Skinned it and cut it up ready for the pot.

Added a few bits and pieces, barley,
bay leaf, bouquet garni for starters.

She chopped up some carrots and celery.

    Then some nice strong onions.

    We both like onions.

The onion is perhaps more beneficial to health than garlic.
A lot of research has been done by scientists and
nutritionists over the years which shows onions
    have a very strong anti-bacterial,
    inflamatory and allergic benefits.

I know a couple of folk from the same family who
eat a raw onion every day.
They are father and son, the father is in his 70's,
the son in his early 50's.

Neither of these guys have ever been ill
    to my knowledge.

Flobo let it simmer on a low light for about two and a half hours or so.

She added a couple of potatoes or so as well.

The aroma was fantastically mouth-watering, then some more.

    It really was delicious.

    Exceptional meal.

^ looks very good. I do a similar version with white wine and chicken stock. Celery is expensive here but can be replaced with Chinese Celery (khun chai). I usually use whole garlic cloves, a few red chillis and dried rosemary to season, as well as cracked black pepper, sea salt and some extra virgin olive oil.

    ^ Yep sounds good Beadle.

You can add all sorts to these types of dishes to your favourite composition.

I think we kind of stick to the main product taste in the UK.

Chicken to taste like chicken with a little onion and celery as booster.

If Flobo makes a stir fry or a small portion of any meat with plenty of veg. she will usually add chilli's and garlic as a taste booster.

I have some food photographs to download. Maybe next week.

Had a super piece of yellow cod tonight, with some large mushrooms stuffed with a very tasty cheese, and a few vine tomato's.

    Really nice.
