There's tam whatever you could possibly think of. The other day, ol' lady was eatin' "tam som oh;" that was just a fuckin' mess. Thai's seem to have penchant for throwing any unripe fruit in and tam-ing the hell out of it with a little chili, fishsauce and dead sea creatures. Some of it's good, some is absolutely too damn ugly to eat.
While onthe subject has anyone every seen a ripe Guava (farang) in the country? Was telling the little lady that they actually get ripe and are pink and sweet inside. Quiet as she is, she came about as close as she ever has to callin' me a liar as she ever has.

Why the food section? You don't want to say that som tam is food, aren's you?

I'm quite partial to a fruit som tam - the usual chilli, garlic, lime, dried shrimps, bean and tomtao - but also with carrot, pineapple, apple, grapes and various other fruity bits. Mmmmm.

They got figs her they tell me are poisonous. and I hafve nvere seen a ripe guava you could be right, But with their penchant for eatin unripe fruit I won't actually belive it until I get a tree of my own and watch it grow. Was a treat when in Fiji, eatin ripe guava off the tree...

Yup I agree. Lets pay somebody 1,000 baht to let one damn guava grow, I am sure we could end only paying 100b each to damn well find out. Gotta be 10 curious guys here??!!

    I'm in!

When in Fiji as i was eatin ripe guavas; we had these guys would walk up a cocnut tree and fetch the guests a coconut. The Fillipina office girl would batt 'er doe-like brown eyes at them big fiji boys, get em to climb the trees for unripe mangos and go out in the forest for unripe guavas.

Fijians thought she was cazy as hell, they like their fruit fallin off the tree.

Fijian entrepeneur; gather a buncha mangos that have fallen off a tree, set up a stand 100 meters down the street and try 'n sell 'em to motorists. You'd pull off the road and pick all you could carry from the tree or off the ground and they wondered why they weren't makin' money!
