    Rice .........

I used to cook rice in bags (BOSTO) when I lived in Europe.
But BOSTO rice is not available in Thailand.
Is there any substitute for this kind of rice.
In particular, rice which is ready in a few minutes and doesn't stick together.
If possible name the brand and where to buy.
    TIA

Sounds like he wants precooked rice in bags to either boil in the bag or microwave.

There’s microwaveable rice packs at the 7-11.

Just get a glass bowl, boil some water pour rice in the bowl, pour boiling water over the rice same height above rice as the rice is deep and microwave on high for 6 minutes uncovered. check it and stick it on another minute if needed. Cover with clingfilm or a plate etc and leave it for 5-10 mins and it should have absorbed all the water - done

So your 'quick cook' rice takes about 20 minutes.

Wife quite often buys the ready made rice from 7. It's just easier when you haven't had the rice cooker on.

Look on Lazada. They have a ton of microwavable rice varieties.

Most of the rice sold "ready for consumption" is sticky.
    Not what I look for.
The rice used for "Khai man Kai" in restuarants or food courts is not sticky and is more the taste I look for.
I am looking for a kind of rice like this, but ready in a few minutes (parboiled?).

Parboiled rice is bagged up and available everywhere. Google Translate while shopping is your friend.

I'm not sure if you know this already: The rice used in Khow Man Gai is standard Thai white rice.
The difference is in the way it is prepared. It is boiled in the water from the boiled chicken, which gives it its taste and, because of the oil from the chicken, its texture too.

And that's where it gets its name from: Oily rice (with) chicken.

I usually cook a pot of rice on the stove, then drain it, then spread it in a flat shape inside plastic bag and freeze it.

Then you can break off a chunk whenever you need a portion of rice. It takes about 3 minutes to nuke at 800w, or 2 minutes of you take it out early and let it thaw.

You can dole it out into portions bags and freeze them to make it even simpler, but you then do not have the option of adjusting your portion size to match your hunger/needs at the time of dining.

How much does someone hate food that they resort to fueling methods like that?

I did not get that off teh Tinternet. It was my own private brain-bomb about 2 years ago when I noticed that rice does not keep very well when I leave a big bag of it in the fridge for more than a very short number of days, unlike other foods, which keep much better.

What would the good Mrs Lao's primary points of contention be with the frozen rice-slab life-hack?

    A. She is Lao.B.rice as far as she is concerned must be consumed straight after cooking. 1 day old rice is suitable for fried rice dishes only. And then there's Sticky rice, a whole different ballgame. Don't get me wrong
Should I find myself a Batchelor again your rice method would certainly be applicable. Actually I can't get all that excited about rice. Prefer spuds. but ya gotta adapt a wee bit in a multi cultural marriage. Btw.buying 20kg sacks of rice is the norm at chez bld.

Fooking rice eh. A labour intensive farming method.to produce a flavourless yet filling scran which I suppose is the point of it. It's only us in the west that buy it in wee bags never wondering where it came from. Some farangs might find themselves getting desperate letters or emails informing of sick buffaloes. The family car.
