Worcester Sauce

Just an heads-up for people that like/love Worcester Sauce, like I do. It is available on Lazada under brand name 'Yamamori'. Sold in 500ml and 1L bottles. Price 193 Baht inc postage for the 1L bottle. Much cheaper and better tasting than Lea & Perrins. IMO. Also available at Makro.

As a side note, The reason it might taste better is because it could be loaded with MSG. I'd check if one is sensitive to it. Same goes for Soy Sauce. The ones that people say tastes the best are highly concentrated with MSG.

I only use Worcestershire sauce in my Bloody Mary bevvies.

    I'm not sensitive to MSG.
Is it OK to use MSG everyday?

Although it was considered a toxic ingredient during the 1960s, current evidence has dispelled that myth, indicating that MSG is safe when consumed in moderate amounts. Still, you shouldn't eat excessively large doses or consume it if you experience adverse reactions.
Actually, our body contains a lot of MSG. If not, you are dead, it is essential for the body chemistry.

MSG has much less sodium than table salt. Better to control blood pressure.

    ^ You've started spelling American?

I always squirt a splash of Worcestershire sauce in any Spaghetti Bolognaise et al.

To be honest I have no idea of it makes any difference!

This is what I used in Thailand, it tastes like French's from the US. There's also an orange labeled on that tastes like L&P.

Hence why I started this thread to let people know there are better alternatives. Cheaper and tastier.

Agreed. Other sauces are available, I have tried a couple and they are okay. I stick with the original.

Surprised that anyone outside the Sheffield post code even knows that Henderson Relish exists. Locally popular, but nationally? I very much doubt it, which is a pity. It is always a fine accompaniment to any beef dish. Other uses may also be appropriate.
