I love cheese. Probably bad for healthy diet reasons in the quantities I consume.

Indonesia is not especially adventurous when it comes to cheese availability. You can have any type of cheddar, which seems to be a staple here. Soft French cheeses are available but expensive.
I don’t know why Mozzarella is so popular here, but stocks seem plentiful wherever you shop.

I miss the variety of English cheeses, especially Red Leicester. It seems unobtainable, unless you enjoy online shopping for processed stuff!

The market here is definitely geared towards Asian foods which is no great surprise. I keep hoping that the proximity to Australia night improve the choice of western foods, but apart from quality steak, and the cardboard and sawdust version of weetabix, there is little choice.

I am fortunate to have an older Australian lady who makes my English Crumpets for breakfast. She loves a challenge too. Great for home made pies, beetroot, pate and biscuits.

Bintangs ok but I reckon San mig is better, but if truth be known I would probably drink either out of an old boot

Stumbled across this fancy deli and, of course, they lured me in.

Heaven- even if it was a bit touristy.

I was sampling all sorts, but I ended up with a salami, a hunk of guanciale, and different pecorinos at different times of ageing (the old one's for you, Chitty ) and a parmigiano reggiano.

A mere 55 Euros for just over 800g of cheese and some meat.

The cheeses are absolutely superb.
