Normally flame grilled steak means you grilled them on an open flame, not that you sent the pan on fire…
A ‘boil in the bag’ kipper needing to be…err…boiled in the bag.
Yes, quite a revelation.
Oh well, at least you didn’t fry it in the bag.
Maybe the kids helped.
Try some teriyaki sauce on the kippers, Joe. That'll moisten them up a bit and add a bit of Asian sweetness.
Had theses Al fresco this morning..

^ Nah, not worth the effort for me. If they are available I'll eat now and again but not worthy of making the effort to do myself.
It'll just have to be poached eggs on toast without the kippers.![]()
^ Funnily enough, we make our own bread and Sausages whenever we can be bothered and we have pigs so could make our own bacon if I ever managed to work out how. Can't be that difficult if the Danes can do it.
I haven't made butter since milk stopped being delivered in bottles in the UK. From the bottle, it was easy. You used to skim the cream off the top (had to get to the milk before my sister who always pinched the cream). Finding that quality milk is hard enough nowadays in Europe, let alone a non Dairy country such as Thailand. I guess you skip that bit nowadays and just buy cream.
However, we are drifting swiftly away from Chitty's culinary delights that are best left on the plate.
I liked the basa & veg stir fry on the prior page. The others (if you were hosting me), I would eat out of politeness.
Carry on, Chitty. You have to keep the culinary threads alive while PAG is MIA.![]()
^yes. The Gangnam style Korean dish with egg fried rice - I would eat that! And probably dance the Gangnam style dance afterwards. Oppa Gangnam style!![]()
Just drowning the food in some sauce does not make it look any better.
