Bought some duck breasts and corn fed chicken breasts also from Tesco's finest section.

Three different meats for a tenner.

Lucky you were furloughed otherwise you would not be able to justify the cheap eating.

My daughter sent me this pic of Massaman curry on a bed of couscous. The verdict was that "Massaman is awesome" on a bed of fluffy couscous.

Sausages and onion in bread... nice option!

I like to add a bit of cheese also.

The other half swears that Massaman in a soft white bread roll in Thailand is a winner.

I never personally saw it, but can imagine it tastes great ... maybe no potato bits on the roll though?

Apparently it's steamed semolina. Then I had to find out what semolina is. Semolina is durum wheat similar to millet and sorghum....and wheeee, down the rabbit hole I go.

^ they are my favourite, minced pork about an inch thick with a layer of Black Pud on the bottom and filled with jelly which never sets because they don't get cold enough. My car has quite a lot of pastry crumbs in the footwell, its impossible not to eat one when you leave the shop. Up in the home of Greens Bakery and Astute submarines for a few weeks.

^ Mackerel is a nice fish but can turn bad quickly, so a good supplier is important to ensure it's fresh.

Speaking of fish, it's becoming increasingly difficult to get a good variety of fresh fish here, and the prices are horrendous . . . so we find ourselves eating less fish and more meat or simply no meat. Surprising for an island nation . . . 95% of caught fish is exported and 75% of aquaculture is exported - simply ridiculous . . . the same goes for meats, fruits etc...

A nation that can feed itself five times over but exports 95% and charges an arm and a leg domestically. In KL you can buy NZ fish cheaper than here.

    Anyway . . .

Mrs Hat cooked up a storm for lunch . . . simply fabulous sweet pork ribs with shallots, garlic and ginger . . . all I know is that she adds brown sugar, brown and white vinegar, sesame seeds sprinkled on top . . . and it tastes very, very good.

Veggie dish was also very tasty with asparagus, shiitake mushrooms, capsicum (bell peppers), onions, garlic and ginger . . . in a light brown sauce

. . . washed down with a cold Blackberry cider.

As it is spring and a lovely 25 degrees we ate outside by the pool, which has a lovely temperature of 12 degrees

    Burp . . .

I met a Northern butcher before, he had a glint in his eye and the Fred Elliot look about him, like that guy in your photo. He regaled how he once took a 16 inch black pudding out of shop window and pumelled it inside some Indian woman with learning difficulties who used to walk past his shop and how he then put it back out for resale.

I guess the moral of the story is to do your own mincing

No, this one is different, it can make dough, cakes, burgers and pasta.

That breadmaker went for a song in a fire sale in Asia along with a load of other good ideas at the time

I could do with going to a car boot sale with some of the shit I've collected in the UK already.

Did you see on the news about Amazon dumping all their returns? Well they started doing Amazon Clearance Sales after the commotion.

That kenwood k mix in the photo was only 90 quid, rrp 250.
I got a 350 quid magnifica s bean to coffee maker for 110, a 150 quid singer sewing machine for 75 quid for the wife and a pair of jeans I needed a button moved on, steamer, toaster, microwave, egg poacher, garlic crusher, avocado slicer etc etc

It's virtually brand new tge Amazon shit, although sold as used and at a big discount.
I will post it up when they do another sale.

From the fishmonger who's son catches them. £4.80p / Kg, not as cheap as it used to be but still a bargain.

    Those ribs look good.

Fuck those buses, schoolkids, the elderly, the infirm, the ramps, the cameras and audio equipment, the lack of music and every kunt wanting to get in front of you for a laugh

I begin the truckin adventure next week.

I'll soon be slaying prostitutes at truck stops and driving around in a frock like Nige
