    On cream cheese? I don't think pastrami would work...

    Salmon on cream cheese is a classic pairing, it's usually found on a bagel rather than loaf bread. Also, at first, served with a salad was a bit odd.

    Though after consideration, dipping the sandwich into a classic Italian dressing while experiencing the salad would be nice.
