I'll play if we can wait until the new year's break...
Slaps gone off the idea but we haven't seen FP's yet, so I'm sure there's still time. Be nice to see some others...
Made a Chinese Winter gourd soup today.
I liked it but my daughter's verdict was 'Mai aroi WA!'
Fucking charming.

Made an onion, garlic, tomato, pepper, ginger, lemon grass and mushroom soup this morning.
It literally tasted of nothing.
Soup. It's ultimately just flavoured water innit?
Just dump a couple of mama sachets into a bowl of hot water.
Done.
Simples.
Oxo cube, boiling water and croutons...Proper Gordon Blue!
I'm gonna make a pumpkin n callot next.

Ok, here we go with Roast Pepper and Roast Carrot Soup.
I started off with cooking up a good stock using onion, celery, pumpkin and bit's of chicken bone from Mackro.
The chicken carcasses were only 3bt and the knuckles came to about 12bt.
I've lost the pic of how it turned out but you can see it here in the background (in the bottle next to the wine) from another cooking thread.
EDIT: I cant find that pic either. It was a very nice chicken and pumpkin stock though.
Then I herbed up the carrots and roasted the peppers and carrots.
Here they are out the oven.
Then I put them in an air tight container for 20 mins to sweat them off a bit and make the skins of the peppers easy to slide off.
While they were doing their thing I started to fry the mirepoix as a base for the soup.
When all that was done and cooled it was into the blender adding just a bit of the stock to get the blender moving.
I think I added a bit of paprika and some chill for a bit of heat.
And then back in the pan, slowly adding more stock until the consistency was perfect.
It had a fantastic colour now and the smell was amazing.
Into the bowl and serve with some crusty bread.
^ Lot of work for flavoured water.
Mama satchets, hot water, ketchup, done.
