Those pics are really cool. The only time I've used the macro function was to take a picture of a bowl of kimchi.

Seriously great shots!
Again, I am awed by your photos. Being envious doesn't even begin to express my feelings. Thanks for leaving them at full resolution, because I will copy a few and file them away for my future reference.
Thanks for enhancing our knowledge!

BuuuuMP!
Please excuse the Geko turd in the top pic Just came down from where I pulled his guy out a bit of trouble. He doens;t like being messed with though, everytime I tried to positition him he'd growl at me.
nice beetle
I didn't know they could growl though
maybe natural light would be better, I hate flash, you get all those unnatural highlights
I took the pic at midnight or so. I asked him to stick around for the morning light. He declined. I guess I could have bumped up the ISO to 800 and then tried for a 30 second exposure time. He was quite still except when I pulled him down from the ceiling and he landed on my big toe. held on for dear life he did. I ain't moved that fast in years, or jumped so high.
If I had a separate flash unit I could have bounced the flash and got less glare, but I don't, yet.

FF, up in your neck of the woods, the Thais fight them. I believe a lot of money changes hands.
If you put two males together on a stick, each tries to throw the other off.
A greeny coming your way for reviving an excellent (and nowadays, very civilized) thread.

I like the back legs of grasshoppers in soy sauce....very tasty.
Yeah I've seen a fight. Fun. I had thoughts of keeping this guy as a pet but the Ol' Lady had different ideas.Originally Posted by Sir Burr

I put him on the back porch (Tile Floor shot) and set him off to the side, wasnt sure if he was going to make it, to be honest. He either got ate or rested up; was gone this morning.
