    Birds of prey in Thailand

    Hi

    I am new here.

I am a german who stay longtime in Thailand. Near Pattaya. My hobby are the birds of prey. Special the feathers of them. I am a collector of these.

So I look for contact maybe to other collectors or holders of birds of prey in Thailand? Private persons or maybe zooīs for example.

If anyone has informations for me please send a message.

    Regards,

Pretty much every bar girl in Pattaya might qualify as a bird of prey.

    I am a collector! Not a killer...

And by the way - if I theoretical thinking about killing birds for feathers I not need ask other people (like here) about who can help me maybe to get (single) feathers from birds of prey. Right?!!!

PS: In Europe I have connections a lot (Breeder, Falconer, Holder) to get interesting feathers. But I want explore new territory. Here were I live now more or less.

Sure you are somewhat an expert but here is TeakDoor's link. Far from all of them but a few of the more numerous species.

    @kingwilly

I am more a specialist about european species.

This must be a falcon. About the size of the bird. Rare or or not I donīt know, sorry.

Also about the buying-price. Because I am interested about feathers. Not for living birds of prey.

So how much would one feather be worth? Must be at least 100 on that bird, therefore you ROI would be pretty good...

It's a Black Shouldered Kite - quite common in Thailand.

No idea what it would sell for but I would guess it would not live long in captivity unless you know how to treat it.

Best of luck in your search,I would be interested vin your finds, the reason is. In My Wifes village and surrounding area (Sae Kaeo) (Aranyaparathyet) I get so despondant, because there is water, rivers and food, yet the area is void of wildlife. I have stood on the banks of a river and no birds are seen, wild ducks are extinct. The air is sterile,no sounds of birds chirping. I bemoan the fact that in England a riverside area like this would have wild fowl. She says that 30 years ago there was wildlife. Today it has all been hunted and eaten. What chance does a bird of prey stand in surviving in a sterile enviroment.?
Okay there is food, rats, snakes and frogs.Yes the locals eat those as well.Nothing is sacred.
