I just stick to Scotch whisky and Heinekin. - no problems unless I overdo it.
So how often is there a problem CE.? And by the way I posted weeks ago you are so right about the prison. Nonmanwong Rd. Big old guard tower looks like its for airplanes.Originally Posted by colourful-era

^where you off to tonite mate?
Thanks Andy, you are quite right, I didn't know that before.Originally Posted by DrAndy
Back in the UK I used to drink 8 pints of Guiness everyday and 13 pints on a good session put here I just cannot take the beer.
What is it, the heat or old age creeping up on me ?
dunno, but 5 pints of ale was my limit
here it is 4 Singhas, or a bottle of red
must be old age then
Dont think its due to old age. Perhaps its the heat, but the heat makes me crave beer more.
Well as Marmers said hang overs are generally 'cos of dehydration.....so the heat probably does factor into it (I miss the cold brisk wake you up mornings in the UK).

How often a problem - not too often these days really - maybe once a month.
And Marmite - a couple of cans of Special Brew - I didn't mean exactly 2 , more like 2-4 (it's 9% by the way if you're not familiar with the old loony juice)
It is a major bummer when you walk out of your bedroom at 6:30am and its hot as fcuk. Cloudy used to mean cool and foggy where I come from, roll over and another few hours of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.Originally Posted by kenkannif
Leo is probably the best beer in Thailand, but it isn't exactly good. That is why I prefer to buy real scotch. Singh and Chang give me hangovers. I still don't trust the Thai brewing process.
One of my students brought me four tinnies of Beer Lao back from a holiday, and it was very palatable.Originally Posted by Bwana Brad

Singha has been sold in the UK for over 17 years, tasted shite there aswell.
^yep -and the last time I asked for one in a Thai restaraunt they wanted something like 8 quid for it!!
Told them they could get ....
much the same words I used after I had tried the food. Which, to this day, I'm certain was prepared by a Burmese lad
quite often in the UK "Thai" restaurants have HK cooks. The Chinese have realised that people are willing to pay more for Thai food. I even went to the "best" Thai restaurant in London last year, on expenses, and it was rubbish. But full up!! so much for taste
I don't care what they are putting into Thai alcohol, I've quit again.
Day 3 and counting...
^ Go! Go! Go! CMN Can you make it to four days this time?!
DR A:
I went to a "Thai" restraunt near Dulwich school in south London. I asked for a "somtam" - the missus loves her somtam. "Don't serve it" was the response.
Probably the national dish of Thailand and they didn't serve it. Disgrace and I let them know it too!
Also went to a Thai restraunt near Soho with a Thai friend of mine. He was so disgusted with the quality of the food he was embarrassed to serve it to our table. Went into the kitchen and started cooking the food himself. Very funny and enjoable night, but for all the wrong reasons.
These days I don't even bother going to Thai restaraunts in the UK, especially not those crappy ones you used to see in pubs all over town.
