    Mae Ngat Dam Chiang Mai

Heard of this place a few times and decided to for a night with some buddies as everything was closed due to voting.

It is located just about an hour outside of town and you can get a song taow to take up to 11 people there for 500 baht one way. You of course could make an appointment for the same guy to pick you up at a given time, but probably wouldnt happen. So you just as one of the guys with a pick-up to take to down the road where there are plenty of song taows waiting.

The price I thought was great, 350 Baht per person per night with dinner, coffee, breakfast, ice, and the trip from the launching point, there and back.

Unfortunately, we decided to go just after the burning season started here in chiang mai and there was a lot of smoke in the air.

On our way out we could see fires dotting the mountains all around..

One of the things i was most impressed with was the food. Excellent quality and in good portions. If they had a restaurant in town I would go there.. This is what was put in front of us right as we got there..

Your pretty free to do whatever you want out there....

The first thing I see in the morning when walking out of my room..

    The second..

All this was really tasty stuff, again like I said, I was really impressed by the quality of food.. Which cam from the restaurant just beside our floating bungalow..

There is also nice little shop that will stay open till about midnight that has all kinds of snacks, drinks, beer and whiskey in case you didnt bring enough of your own. it is a bit more that the local 7-11 but not bad, something like 55 or 60 baht for a LEO.

Then there was lunch. (not included in the 350 per person)

    1st course.

    2nd.

This is what it was for us with ten people. 7 of us were small Thais so this area plus the four rooms was plenty.(I only shared a room with one)..

The accommodations, with insect net (babe not included).. Quite comfortable actually.

So the place we stayed in seemed a little further out than the rest of them. You can rent small boats, fishing poles and necessary equipment to fishing if you like..

One thing I really liked about this place was the cleanliness of the water. A friend was swimming next to me in the water and I, in the water myself, could clearly see his feet.

I'll take a photo of the card later and post it so you can have all the info I as do a bit later...

Very nice... I would love a break away like that... shisha pipe, whiskey and a card game - that would do for a good nights entertainment....

    Good thread.

350 baht per person, is this with minimum numbers?

Maybe this could be the next TD get together location

It was set further away and more isolated than pretty much all of the other ones I saw..
