Exactly three weeks after applying for the daughter's Aussie passport in Bangkok, it arrived today.
And that included a short delay because the original photo was knocked back.
They even posted it to our house, rather than insisting on a personal pick-up as required for UK passports at Trendy.
I'm not really sure how I feel about having two bloody Aussies in the household but so long as the daughter knows which cricket team to support I guess I can put up with it... I have to accept that Australia will give her more opportunities than post-Brexit Britain.
Imagine how they feel having a Brit in the house.
^^And unlike UK passports it is blue, and printed in home country.
It must be the only passport in the world that has an image of a previous enemy that defeated their army in a war on it.
It's akin to the French passport having an image of Lord Nelson on it.
Or the American passport a picture of a little Asian rice farmer.
^^ Emu I think... it's like a small, dirty ostrich.
The Great Emu War: When Australians Lost to Flightless Birds
In the Great Emu War of 1932, the Australian military went to war against a species of flightless bird. And lost.
With the Trans-Tasman ties between Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand your daughter has a two-fer. Although, with the current coalition government ran by a venal corporate coward, an arrogant libertarian prick, and a bitter septuagenarian alcoholic, maybe having AoNZ in the mix ain't quite the bargain.
Proper Aussie!
you’ll have to teach her how to chant Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!
^ The day she chants that is the day she starts boarding.
Child abuse that Rolf would be proud of that is
Lulu something new everyday.
The cassowary is usually considered to be the world’s most dangerous bird, at least where humans are concerned, although ostriches and emus can also be dangerous.
Cassowaries are shy but they can do a lot of damage if they are provoked or angered. Cassowary attacks have occasionally been deadly, including a recent one which occurred in 2019.
I'll try not to send one a red.
The Ozzie wildlife is not for the faint hearted..

I once got laid out by a chicken.
It was in an old sandwich at Stavanger Airport!
Not forgetting the photos of you being forced in to a seated servile position by a khorat chook
