Back in the day my speciality was climbing and descending - now I'm happy to get to the top without being sick.

But, and here's a but, I recommend anyone going back to cycling to get a health check and invest in heart monitor.

I regularly ride at 120% of my maximum recommended heart rate, I would not feel safe doing that if I hadn't checked my heart out and was not monitoring my performance.

I ride mainly on road, I have a Wheeler Titanium MBK but mostly ride a Giant Aluminium road bike.

Special occasions I take out my old Raleigh 753 Team frame (made for my by Gerald O'Donavan back in my real racing days) and I've just taken delivery of Colnago C59 KOM (Campag SR) team frame.

    Photos to come.

out of my price range and don't think I'd be riding at 120% of max recommended heart rate but sound advice to have a check up before riding strenuously.... nice bikes... looking forward to the photos....

Been in Sukhothai 6 years. Have some issues going on now that make it difficult to get away. Maybe by August things will be better for getting around to doing things.

You looked all tanned and fit when we dropped into your place this afternoon and now I know why.

By the way the dolphin show was pretty good although expensive, 500 Baht for farang and 300 for thai for an hour show.
LT, I went to the dolphin show a few weeks ago for the second time. First time was about a year ago and they offered Thai prices for Farangs with Thai licence, this time they refused. I asked why and the lady said they did not need to as custom was good with bus tours of Russians arriving. I did not go in this time as I regard the place a rip off, the hour show is the only thing worth doing there as the rest of the attractions are terrible and it is a hot concrete jungle.

12 May 2013: 140 Kilo bicycle ride from Rayong to Wang Chan to Klang thru Ban Pae and return to Rayong. 3 eating stops, several water stops, and some stops to take in the scenery along the way. Here are just a few of the photos from the bicycle ride.

This was the day’s riding group.

The one major climb of the day and since it was the only climb, some of us went up and down the climb 2 times. Some would say that doing such an act builds character. Others might say there is no sense to it. Either way, it was a nice day to ride and a nice view from the top of the hill climbed.

Some of the country and less traveled roads traveled during the day.

    Lunch time.

I did some of the cooking.

Water stop at Ban Pae Beach on the return.

and riding through the back soi in Ban Pae to get back to Rayong.

Nice size group. Good distance. Great location. And yes, I am getting tired of the flat riding in Sukhothai!
