Now in Pattaya unlike the rest of Thailand Songkran is supposed to be on the 18th and 19th of April, due to it being infested with Isaan peasants it starts on the 13th like the rest of Thailand and continues throughout the duration, of course with Pattaya being infested with Isaan peasants and farang scum the national death toll for Songkran doesn't bother to include them much the same as it doesn't include road deaths of dogs or any other family pets or wildlife, anyway, at least we know where we stand in the eyes of the local proper Thais'.

So on the 18th my girlfriend mentioned going to the temple and also sand castles, now I remember reading something about sandcastles, and things like "biggest in the world" "Highly decorative" "3 days to build" so I got to admit my expectations were quite high, sadly I've seen more decorative sandcastles from where the builders merchants have dropped off sand at sites and left it under a tree, the article must have been about some where else, anyway here are some of them, assume there was some auspicious amount of sandcastles to generate luck and money.

And the little entrance or garden path for the spirits and ghosties.
