So true. You can get (slightly) away from the irrational whereas the poor woman is chained to it 24/7 at the moment.
It’s hard for rational caring blokes to just chill and accept the silliness and rudeness because it’s not the woman’s fault even though they’re hurting people.
They’re hurting more. And that’s painful to watch.

Have a few beers and try not to dwell on it.
Watch a movie for a couple of hours, give your nerves a break.

Its a hell of a lot deeper than that Joe, especially with the kids involved at the age they are at now. I personally have trouble imagining what he is and has been going through for a long while now.

I agree, just suggesting a break from it all for a couple of hours.

Cycling helped me switch off from the madness of my ex who steadily got worst over several years .

Everyone has different coping mechanisms in times of turmoil.

Not a peep out of that asshole and his wife. But his wifes friend sent a text asking about her. There also going to new zealand so it was really just fishing for info to see if there travel plans were affected. Hard to believe she thought these cold heartless kunts were her friends. She discretely asked if a trip to Lao in december would help. Im hoping it will , we are still booked for the 20th december but if she is still erratic then i doubt we will go.

I keep thinking i should apply for a tourist visa for her mum to come down for a while incase this takes months , but the tourist visa will likely take months to issue due to a backlog from covid , still waiting for a passport for my youngest son that was applied for in june, same thing, covid backlog. For 2.5 years not allowed to leave the country now we can cant get a fucking document to leave.

    ^ That’s a great idea.

You’re doing a great job of this, BLD. Just keep on doing what you are doing and this will all be in the rear view mirror.

Apply anyway, even if it does take that long. If it’s still going you’ll be glad you did.

Give the immigration dept a call, they may be able to push it through due to the circumstances, or have some special visa for such a situation.

Shy loons get nowt, and all that.

^ You could try to plea your case with your government representative. I don’t know which office that would be, but someone who works in Canberra where they have sway over immigration. It works sometimes in the US.

    This a strategy -
Call up the phone number and put up with the wait.
Get an operator and get nowhere.
Next line - ‘May I speak to your supervisor please ?’
    Get nowhere.
Next line - ‘I could always contact my local (federal) member (‘with whom I am in good terms’ is useful here) and ask him/her/other to ask your minister to ask your department head about this matter. Eventually someone may ask you some questions, so to avoid all this drama can we expedite this matter now please ? Could you connect me with someone who can make this problem go away perhaps ? Or can you move this forward in some other way please ?’.

Were booked to go to lao on 20th december but if things are still weird we wont be going . Ive set the wheels in motion phanns a bit older so auntie keo is helping her with the document side of things i really think her mums visa will take months from what i can gather but fuk it we will give it a whirl. Today i googled visa document requirements and gleaned that she should provide bank statements from last 3 months. Turns our she doesnt have a bank account but will set one up on wednesday. Banks closed tomorrow. Buddha holiday. Then i need to forward her $5000 so she can show she has funds. Book her a ticket if and after visa granted.

We just voted out the most inept , useless and corrupt govt that left australia trillions in dept under this scomo guy. The new guy seems ok but i think he and his team have a bit on there plate. Although the first thing he done was release the sri lankan family that had been in limbo for years in immigration issues. . Australia is still quite a racist place i dont think i would get very far with that line of enquiry but will certainly put it to the test. My wifes not yet a citizen but has return resident status which means she can stay here forever. But when she exits she needs another return resident visa

I had a problem in Canada with a government agency that was still trying to get money from me even after I twice sent them the required documents supporting my case. I called the office of the politician representing my riding. The phone was answered immediately, I explained my problem, and less than 2 hours later they called me back and said the problem was solved.

Believe it or not, some politicians really are there to help their constituents. It's worth a try.

Im at my wits end but today i feel we have turned a corner. If she can come home for saturday night that will be the tester shes still quite quirky .before everthing had to be pink color pyjamas comb etc now everything has to be blue. So. Shes still not right . But at least becoming reasonable.
