Ex-cop gets 38 years for RPG attack

The Criminal Court on Monday sentenced a former policeman of Wang Nam Yen police station in Sa Kaeo province to 38 years in jail in connection with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the Defence Ministry on March 20 last year.
The court found Pol Lance-Corporal Bundit Sithithum guilty on altogether 10 charges including violation of the emergency decree in connection with the incident.
The RPG round missed the Defence Ministry, but person was wounded in the explosion.
The court stated that there was sufficient evidence to found him guilty as charged.
Supanat Hulavej was also arrested as another suspect in this case but the prosecution had earlier dropped all charges filed against him by police.
