Before he arrives, would it be possible to have all of Tom Sawyer's posts from the minivan thread cut and pasted here? Just to save time, if you know what I mean.

What was the story about a young TV star speeding in his car in Bangkok yesterday, hit a young girl and broke her neck. His nickname is 'Porsche'. Any connection?

Some truly horrible video of this now on Thai sites. Extremely disturbing and graphic. Not going to post a link here. Just too upsetting. I wont sleep tonight.

I hope they get the c*nt who did this.

To the 17 year old girl, RIP. A young life violently and horrifically taken. Too soon.

To the selfish piece of shit who did this, justice is coming to you I hope. Soon.

    Warrant sought for hit-and-run driver

    Warrant sought for hit-and-run driver

    By The Nation on Sunday
    Published on March 27, 2011

Pathum Thani - Police will ask Pathum Thani Provincial Court to issue an arrest warrant tomorrow for the driver of a Porsche who hit and killed a girl from Laos. The 17-year-old died after her body was cut in half by the speeding Porsche.

The accident happened on Friday afternoon on the Pathum Thani-Bang Bua Thong Road. Reports said police quoted a witness as saying that the girl was crossing the road to come back from a noodle shop where she bought lunch. Another witness told police he saw a young driver jump into a taxi after parking his luxury car.

Police said they found a document for Supachai Thaksinthawisup, 58, in the vehicle. It identified him to a house in Bangkok Noi.

Police said the owner of the car had two children studying at a university and that they summoned him, but he refused to meet police. There was only a call from a senior policeman saying Supachai wanted to postpone meeting with police.

Forensic officers have checked the fingerprints on the car's steering wheel and collected samples from the car.

    RIP. poor girl

^ if the above about a high ranking police officer calling in that the culprit wants to postpone giving himself up, it just boggles my mind, I know it's Thailand but still I just cant get used to these type of things, its one thing to have caused an accident, even such an arrogant swine type accident by a snotty high-so kid (if that's the case), but running from it and refusing to show, Thai Police not raiding the house taking in the registered owner for questioning just for starters . and "some" people wonder why the poor Thais sometimes looses it in anger towards the establishment.

Thanks for the warning. The Khao Sod article you linked to earlier was graphic enough, I don't want to see any pictures.

Bangkok Post : Owner of Porsche involved in fatal accident identified

Owner of Porsche involved in fatal accident identifiedPATHUM THANI : Police have identified the owner of a white Porsche which slammed into a Lao teenager at such a high speed it cut her body in half and left her torso in the driver's seat.

The distraught mother of Kambai Inthilat, 17, travelled from Laos to try and retrieve her daughter's remains yesterday.

The Porsche Cayman owner, Suppachai Thaksinthaweesap, 58, has contacted Pathum Thani police to ask for postponement of the date that he can bring the driver in, said Pol Lt Col Bancha Meelert who is in charge of the case.

Mr Suppachai told police the driver would surrender to police after he returns from a trip to pay homage to his ancestors during the Cheng Meng festival.

Police said they did not know the relationship between Mr Suppachai and the driver of the Porsche.

    <snip>

Pol Lt Col Bancha said Pathum Thani police would seek an arrest warrant for the driver if he failed to report to investigators.

The girl's mother, Urai Inthilat, 35, yesterday sought police permission to collect her daughter's body which is being kept at Thammasat Chaloem Phrakiat Hospital.

But police said they could not release the body without an official letter from the Lao embassy. The mother will have to wait until tomorrow when she can ask for a letter from the embassy.

Ms Urai said her daughter had recently travelled from Laos to stay with her aunt in Pathum Thani during the school holidays. Kambai had come to Thailand to help her aunt, Laddawan Soonthawong, 40, run her grilled-meat outlet.

Ms Urai broke into tears when she inspected the Porsche parked at Pathum Thani police station after meeting with Pol Lt Col Bancha.

She said she plans to hold a funeral for her daughter at Sai Noi temple in Nonthaburi's Bang Bua Thong district, before taking her ashes home to Laos.

She is entitled to seek up to 200,000 baht compensation from the owner of the Porsche.

The incident comes three months after a Honda, driven by a 16-year-old girl, crashed into a van killing nine people.

Wouldn't want to let a minor inconvenience like the death of a careless Lao girl get in the way of paying homage to the celestial ancestors.

Good to know the driver has his priorities in the right order, the c*tnt needs putting in prison for a very long time.

    Hot wire a Porche?

I google the topic, it seems that it is dam near impossible. A secrete code is programmed into the key. The car goes into lock down mode if it is tampered with. New code has to be sent for in Stutgart Germany.

It appears that the story about it being stolen, would only convince someone who would wish to believe. That a rich person could do such a thing.

Never thought for one second the car was stolen, the story followed the usual pattern...rich kid driving family car, too fast, probably without licence and the family go into "it's someboy else not our little monkey" protection mode.
