Because Governments are in general, complacent about child protection. And that doesn't necessarily mean exclusively penalties for offenders (by which time the damage is done), but also having social safety nets so that kids, the most vulnerable in those societies, don't even enter into potentially harmful sexualised situations.

Then you have governments that go (too far) to the opposite extreme, such as is taking place in my home part of the UK at present, where a 19 year old has been found picking up girls on Facebook. (When I was at school, a number of the girls had late-teen boyfriends). However, now its cause for hysteria, and panicked letters around every local school.

Frankly, to extrapolate a meaningful debate upon child abuse and punishment from this reported incident is really quite futile and ignores a fundamental truth about the lower end Thai and their counterparts elsewhere in the third world.

The perpetrator of this atrocity is probably no more responsible for his actions than, say, a toad in rutting season.

He will have a borderline intelligence quotient carefully nurtured by a deficient gene pool and impoverished diet. He will have received no qualitative education throughout his miserable span of life and in all likelihood, similar to many of his peers, is incapable of cognitive thought. In short, he is simply a repository for ephemeral needs and possesses no insight to satisfy these beyond automatic reflexes. Add the cumulative effects of an addiction to cheap unregulated alcohol and hey presto! The man, and one uses the term loosely here, could just as easily have committed this offence upon a captive pig or some other beast.

Folk should come to terms with the inescapable fact that many in this blessed country are quite simply subnormal beings who in any other society would probably be institutionalised.

I never said he was fucking kids, I wouldn't know about that. I said he only ever posts when somebody posts about paedos. It seems to be his only interest. Look at this thread for a perfect example.

Why? What do you think the word "interested" means? I'm well aware of the capacities of many of the posters here so if I'd meant say involved then I would have used the word "involved'. I am very suspicious of people who are obsessed with anything, so, yes, a poster who only ever posts about sex with children is "interested" in the subject. Personally I find that kind of obsession a little bizarre.

Are you telling me that if you had an acquaintance who started every conversation with "hey, did you hear about that little girl that was raped" that you wouldn't find it odd?

Actually, I was reading about a missing 14-year-old girl earlier and one poster remarked that she was not much of a looker, the response of another poster was 'look sexy taped to a chair and jizz dribbling out of her'.
