Murdered man thrown into the ocean in Sattahip

Police and rescue services were called to the Samaesan Fishing port in Sattahip district after the body of an unidentified male was found floating just off the pier.

A local member of the rescue services drew the short straw and jumped into the brackish water with a floatable stretcher and swam out to retrieve the body.

He placed a rope around the mid-section of the corpse which was then brought up onto the pier.

Rigor mortis had already set in and after the corpse was brought up onto the pier it was noticed the dead man had a few unnatural holes in his body.

Police checked and came to the conclusion the dead man had probably been stabbed a few times before his body was thrown into the water.

At this stage they are ruling out suicide.

The dead man was not carrying any forms of identification and police think he may not be a local but possibly a Cambodian or Burmese national.
