for crimes committed against farangs
(and scores are being robbed and brutalised everyday)
if you have lived in thailand for 10 or 15 years
then you may have heard of the odd one
but mostly thais are encouraged to con, scam and brutalise the farang
it's big business.
even when caught red-handed
it takes ages to get them in front of a court,, years sometimes
thai tourism rules.

^the problem is that the court cases take years and it would cost non resident foreigners a fortune to keep attending court etc, and it's quite routine for the accused and his lawyer not to turn up for court to make things harder for the prosecution, which is not seen as a serious content of court, especially compared to critizimg a judishal decision.

On finding what they will have to ^do to get their attacker through the court system, most tourists choose to give up before they start. All part of the dysfunctional Thailand that so many foreigners like when they visit
