Thailand : Seh Daeng's daughter determined to carry father's flag

following is from the blogworld ............................

Seh Daeng's daughter determined to carry father's flag
    Sunday, December 19, 2010

It was done without much fanfare but it's still an interesting development in the local political landscape.

Ms Kattiya Swasdiphon was yesterday voted to be the leader of the Kattiya Party founded by his late father, Maj Gen Kattiya alias "Seh Daeng" who was assassinated during the recent political confrontation.

The daughter had previously been with the Yellow Shirts while her father was decidedly on the side of the Red Shirts. They were obviously on opposite sides of the political spectrum. But once her father was gunned down, she devoted all her energy to continue with his mission.

It's unclear how she will handle her relationship with the Pheau Thai Party but for now, Ms Kattiya seems determined to carry her father's flag -- and let the public decide how her role will evolve from now on.

that's what I love about those amateur and professional Thai political activists, absolutely no fundamental conviction or intellectual integrity,

one day I demonstrate with the yellow, the next day with the reds

probably money being the only common factor,

Or possibly, whatever you or any others think/thought about his motives and personality, she might just have been swayed by the fact that her father had been shot dead by a sniper, whilst at a political rally of a party that he had been "supporting" in the capital. Difficult to judge (though obviously not for you, butterfly) her viewpoint with regard to her situation and disingenuous to apply/liken this situation to others not in a similar position.

stop being naive, this is Thailand. She is in it because she has become a political tool, promises by some for a certain "political" future. It's an offer than any Thai wouldn't refuse. Attention, money, and intellectual simplicity.

Seh Daeng was a terrorist, and a silly terrorist I might add, his death was a necessity and probably saved lives at the end, more on the red side they would ever know.
