7-Elevn shop robbed of Bt1.3 million in cash

7-Elevn shop robbed of Bt1.3 million in cash

Two gunmen robbed a 7-Eleven shop in Bangkok's Bang Na district out of Bt1.3 million in cash while the cash from the sale was about to be counted and sent to a bank, police said.

Police said the robbery at the shop on Soi Sukhumvit 105 took place at 8 am.

Police quoted the shop manager and some staff as saying that one of the men rushed into the manager room at the back of the shop and grabbed the money basket and rushed out while the other man used a gun to threaten other shoppers and staff.

The two fled inside a pick-up truck which was driven by another man.

After encumbents they'll check out those that left in the past 3 months, and if the culprits are still not found then they won't be.

A 7-11 did 1.3 million baht in business in a day?

So if each customer spen an average on say, 250 baht, that would be about 5,000 customers, or about one every *three seconds* for an entire 24 hour period?

Either rich customers, or bloody fast cashiers!

    hmmmmm.......

    ^

    60 * 60 * 24 = 86400 / 5000 = 17.28

    (so we're both crap. )

    Actually 1.3 million / 250 baht (avg) = 5200 customers

    So 86400 / 5200 = 16.62 seconds

Standard procedure for 7-11 franchisees (My wife looked into buying one once), at least on week days. Anyway, 1 day or 5 days, the figure is still bollocks

So is this part. It should read

The two fled inside a pick-up truck which was held up in a traffic jam for two hours, the traffic was so heavy the police couldn't get to them.

or perhaps an insurance scam - saying 1.3 million had been stolen rather than a couple of hundred thousand baht? I'm not sure if you can get this type of insurance in LoS though

Good point. Wise to stay out of that line as it seems to take forever. I always wonder if it's really worth the ten baht to 7/11 to offer this service, or do they get a cut of the payment as well?
