You wish, actually technology has moved on, thats how the thai smiles myth is well and truly busted, modern technology has allowed the whole wide world in on thailands little not so nice secret about how it operates.

So where do military coups fit in democracies, or did your record stick at that point?
    Scrrrreeeeecchhhhhhh............thud.

(That's the sounds of goalposts being moved by you).

Prime Ministers in the UK are nominated and chosen via a vote. It's the oldest parliamentary democracy in the world.

Abhisit came to power as a result of a vote by elected members of parliament. So there was nothing illegitimate about his ascendency to power.

However, what transpired in the months/years before that is a whole different discussion.

    Do you understand now?
"Slavery is the daughter of darkness; an ignorant people is the blind instrument of its own destruction; ambition and intrigue take advantage of the credulity and inexperience of men who have no political, economic or civil knowledge. They mistake pure illusion for reality, license for freedom, treason for patriotism, vengeance for justice."-Simón Bolívar

Hang on, you missed a bit. There, I put it in for you… marked in yellow - how appropriate.

Hardly, it is a really important part of the present discussion, though I'm sure everyone understand why you might not want it to be.

    Do you understand now?

Probably he does, now the most important bit has been added in.

They are getting the message that even unelected tyrants have no hiding place and they are getting rooted out.
To which I responded. He was inaccurate.

Other things you may wish to drag in are another discussion entirely.

You're not very good at this are you....

The civil right charges may be local now, but I direct your attention to the other thread in respect to Mr. Amsterdam bringing in Prof. Knoops. These guys have a strategy and I think it involves Mr. Abhisit's testicles and a judicial vise.

You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment.

I agree, but I don't know how much headway they will make. Access to documents held by the government could be problematic. They don't have much in the way of jurisdiction. I guess they might be able to make a civil case. That could snarl the government in legal wrangling for a long time. It might be a useful method of embarrassing or humiliating Abhisit et al. I guess we'll see sooner or later...

Right now it looks like a PR exercise, designed to pressure the government. If they can dig around and produce some incriminating evidence, then things might get interesting.

Oh, I assume he has undeniable proof of that...?

Oh wait, he doesn't need proof -- just saying so is enough to make it true.

Wow, we should just call these guys 'Cylons' from now on? (I'm sure you can figure out why?)

It looks more like their strategy involves feces, a wall, and the patience to see if anything sticks to it.

Obviously, the 'bringing in Dr. Knoops' strategy does work on the gullible, with the desired effect.
