    The Dead Farang Thread

Seeing as it was so popular, I have decided to start it here

German man found dead inside his Naklua apartment.

Police and rescue workers were called to the Umpun Apartments on the Naklua Road to room number 211 after receiving word of a foreigner who had passed away at the location. Inside the room, the body of Mr. Wolfgang Mohr aged 61 from Germany was discovered inside the bathroom. In cases such as these Police always conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that no suspicious circumstances surround the death. It was evident that the man was suffering from some form of heart condition indicated by the medication found inside the room. An oxygen supply was also connected to his nose. Medical records at the Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital indicated the man had been admitted several times over the last 3 years suffering from a suspected heart attack. The German Embassy in Bangkok has been informed of the passing which Police have recorded as death by natural causes.

Gay German man found dead inside his house.

Police were called to house number 49/55 in Saingshai Villas in South Pattaya to investigate the death of a German man. Police discovered the body of Mr. Jurgen-Michael Haart aged 53. There was no evidence of foul play; however the house was covered in sexually explicit pictures of young boys in every room. The man, who has stayed alone for 4 years, was known to take young men back to his room on regular occasions. For now the exact cause of death is unknown and no medication was found to suggest an illness as the cause. The German Embassy in Bangkok has been informed and both the Police and Embassy are waiting the results of a post mortem examination.

well this one really doesnt belong here yet, but he may make it.

Homesick 72 Year Old English man shoots himself in the head and survives.

We received word of a bizarre suicide attempt which took place at house number 144/36 at Sansook Village in Banglamung. The owner of the house is Khun Songrot and was rented by Mr. David Brand aged 72 from England. According to accounts from neighbors and the house owner who also lived in the house, Mr. Brand was suffering from a severe case of homesickness and was experiencing medical problems with his heart. He was left inside the house alone on Friday morning and it was while he was alone that neighbors heard a single gun shot and entered the house to find Mr. Brand lying on the floor in a pool of blood. It appeared that he had shot himself in the head with a small hand gun. He was quickly taken to the Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital where he is now in a critical condition according to doctors who are astonished that the gun shot failed to kill the man. The British Embassy in Bangkok has been informed of the incident and is conducting their own investigation in conjunction with Banglamung Police who are yet to determine the origin of the gun.

    NZ tourist found dead
    Published on Jun 19 , 2005

A New Zealand tourist was found dead in his Phuket hotel room yesterday with a note asking for a cremation in Thailand.

"Please dispose of my body by fire in Thailand," said a hand-written note left beside the bed where the body of Terrance Hicks, 45, was found in the Phuket Merlin Hotel.

Police also found 10 empty medicine packets for antihistamine and tranquilliser drugs near the note. Each packet had contained eight pills.

An empty plastic medicine bag with no prescription details, except advice that the drugs should be taken one or two at a time, was also found on the dressing table along with two empty water bottles.

Hicks had paid for his room on Saturday and told front desk staff he would check out yesterday.

He didn't answer a call at check-out time, so a maid was sent to check the room. After knocking for some time, she attempted to open the door, but found it chained from the inside. When the door's lock was removed, Hicks was found dead on his bed.

Lieutenant Thiwakorn Khong-phet of Muang district police station said Hicks checked into the hotel at noon on Friday. He was seen leaving and returning to the hotel on Saturday, when he paid his bills before returning to his room.

Australian Man jumps to his death in Central Pattaya.

Police Colonel Somnook, the Chief of Pattaya Police oversaw another case of suspected suicide here in Pattaya. The victim was Mr. Andrew Anderson aged 57 from Australia who resides at the Naranya Mansion opposite the Pattaya Memorial Hospital with his girlfriend, Khun Wichidar who works at a beer bar in Walking Street. He had jumped from the 7th floor even though his room is on the 3rd floor. Motives for the suicide became clear after they had spoken with friends of the dead man and his girlfriend and after an inspection of the body was made. One of Mr. Anderson’s wrists was bandaged and after a forensic doctor had conducted an inspection of the body the man had sustained what appeared to be self-inflicted cuts to his wrist. The man was on medication designed to keep him in a relaxed state because of his history of stress and suicide attempts which according to his girlfriend included an episode where he stabbed himself in the stomach with a fork. He was also known to be angry at Khun Wichidar for working in a Beer Bar and was afraid she may have found another man. The body was removed from the scene and taken for a post mortem examination. The Australian Embassy in Bangkok has been informed of the incident and Police have recorded the case as a suicide.

well it might be a farang.

Headless corpse discovered by Navy Officers in Sattahip.

This story comes from the Sattahip Navy Base, approximately 30 kms outside of Pattaya. A group of navy soldiers were undertaking a training exercise when they made the gruesome discovery of a headless body floating in the sea. The body was recovered and taken back to the base. Police Major Chayawat from Sattahip Police Station was called in to investigate the case. However, for now the corpse could not be identified and Police are not even sure if this is the body of a foreign man or a Thai because of the level of decomposition which had taken place. The body is now in the hands of a forensic doctor who is conducting a post mortem examination in this suspected case of murder.

    Mystery suicide identified

PHUKET CITY: The British Embassy in Bangkok has confirmed that the body of a man who committed suicide at the Phuket Merlin Hotel on June 18 is that of British national Lyndon John Pedley, 44, of Liverpool, England.

Mr Pedley, who apparently swallowed a large number of antihistamine and tranquilizer pills in order to end his own life, was initially identified from the hotel register as Terrance Hicks of New Zealand.

The New Zealand Embassy, however, was unable to find any record of a citizen with that name, and contacted other embassies. The man’s true identity was revealed after his description and other information matched up with information received by the British Embassy in Bangkok.

Mr Pedley’s brother, Alan, had told the British Embassy that he had received his brother’s British passport, along with a letter indicating that he intended to commit suicide. He added that his brother had been living in Thailand under an assumed name “for some time”.

A letter issued by the British Embassy to Pol Lt Thivakorn Kongpeth of the Phuket City Police stated: “Following investigations by both the New Zealand and British [embassies in] Bangkok, we are satisfied that Terence [Terrance] Hicks and Lyndon John Pedley are the same person.”

The letter also requested that police release Mr Pedley’s body for cremation in Bangkok.

Lt Thivakorn told the Gazette that he appreciated all the kind work done by the New Zealand Embassy to help identify the man.

“We believe that he changed his name during his stay at in Phuket because he didn’t want anybody to know who he was or where he came from. He probably just wanted to take leave of this world quietly,” he said.

TRUE story. Got emergency call to an Armoury. Went in, found fucknuckle in back room, had obviously shed his mortal coil... various bits of head and contents all over rear wall. While making handgun safe found bloody thumbprints on 1 round still in magazine, and on 2 empty casings on floor. CSI stylie reconstruction proved that...... His boss was boffing some married bird whose hubby was away so he gave the junior his key to the ammo ... (just in case someone needs it while I'm out...) Junior already has the keys to the weapon rack (2 key principle.. one guy has guns... the other has ammo... and never the twain shall meet ops: ) Fucknuckle is pissed off 'cos his GF is also doing the dirty so goes to gun rack, selects handgun, then goes to ammo store and loads 2 rounds into mag. Gets BOTH rounds off into his own swede (head) but doesn't do the job. Goes back to ammo store and loads another 3 rounds and gets another 2 off to finish the job. Try telling his mum THAT!!

I HATE MY FUCKING JOB SOMETIMES.....

Headless body of a foreign man recovered from the sea’s off of Pattaya.

A Royal Thai Naval Vessel was on routine patrol in the seas off of Pattaya when they spotted an object in the sea which resembled the body of a man. Upon closer inspection it was clear that this was a decomposing headless body, believed to be a foreigner and not a Thai. The body was recovered and taken to the Bali Hai Port and received by Police and rescue workers. Attempts at identification were unsuccessful and Police are now awaiting the results of a post mortem examination before they continue their investigations. The fact that the body was headless suggests this may well be a case of murder.

American ex-soldier jumps from his South Pattaya apartment.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Egadit from Dongtan Police sub-station was called to Angate Apartments in Soi Boonganganaram Temple in South Pattaya to investigate the apparent suicide of a foreign man. At the scene, Police inspected the body of Mr. Craig Byron Biggs aged 60 from America. This former US Soldier had been living with his Thai girlfriend at this location for the last two years. She works as a market vendor and was out at the time of the incident. Police located the man’s room which was locked from the inside. They forced entry and found nothing inside the room which aroused suspicion. Further information from his girlfriend revealed that the man was a chain smoker and enjoyed time alone which may suggest that he was suffering from some form of depression. For now Police are unsure of the exact cause of this apparent suicide and are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination before they proceed with the case. The American Embassy in Bangkok has been informed of the incident.

    German tourist expires after
    drinking session

Police were called to a North Pattaya hotel on June 27 following the death of foreign guest reported by the dead man’s girlfriend.

Officers arrived to find Bernhard Glasl, 56, of Germany lying in bed. An inspection showed no signs of a struggle and the body was transported to the forensic institute for a post mortem.

Glasl’s girlfriend, Pornsiri Sattiladnar, 33, told police she had stayed with the deceased for three days and in that time learned that he had a heart problem. She went on to say that Glasl would go out drinking every night. On the morning of his death, she said she had arrived back at the hotel around 5 a.m. She noticed that Glasl was snoring unusually loudly, as if “something was stuck in his nasal passages.” She observed for a while before falling asleep and waking up at around 8.30 to find him dead.

Police surmise that the man died of a heart attack in his sleep after continual heavy drinking sprees.

German man discovered dead inside his Naklua Home.

Police Major Jackgarin from Banglamung Police Station was sent to house number 297/10 in Soi Noree in Naklua to investigate the death of a foreign man inside his home. Police inspected the badly decomposed body of Mr. Edward Steinmetzer aged 72 from Germany who was known to live alone. Khun Wirawan aged 29, a neighbor, made the gruesome discovery after noticing unusual odors coming from the house. He had not been seen for four days previous to the discovery of the body. An initial examination of the body was made by a forensic doctor who could find nothing suspicious. Police believe the man passed away due to natural causes but are waiting for the results of a post mortem examination before they close the case. Beach road accident leaves one Swiss Man dead.

As Pattaya begins a long holiday weekend it is inevitable that with the increase in tourists and therefore traffic in the area, Police will be dealing with many minor and some m major accidents. We now report on three accidents that took place on Thursday Night, one of them killing a foreign man. The first accident took place on Pattaya Second Road near Tops Supermarket and left three people injured. Police tell us that one motorbike containing two young men attempted to turn into Tops Supermarket and failed to see an oncoming bike ridden by Khun Apinyar aged 26. Injuries sustained include cuts and bruises and minor damage to the two bikes.
The second crash took place on the Sukumvit Road at the junction with the Tepprasit Road. This was a car versus motorbike crash. The bike was driven by Khun Khungong aged 19 who sustained cuts and bruises. His girlfriend who was also on the bike was thrown from the vehicle and is now in a serious condition. Both were not wearing safety helmets. The driver of the car, Khun Yordruk aged 40 remained at the scene and explained that he was traveling on the main road when the motorbike came out of Soi Kow Tha Low and attempted to cross the road but failed to see the oncoming car. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chaleumgiet from Dongtan Police sub-station in Jomtien was called in to investigate the crash and could not determine who was to blame for the cash at this time. The investigation continues.
The third and most serious crash occurred on Pattaya Beach Road. It occurred between Soi’s 12 and 13 and involved a Baht Bus and a motorbike. Mr. Yves Christophe Bernard aged 37 from Switzerland who was driving the motorbike, was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital. Police Major Sanay from Pattaya Police Station investigated the case and spoke with Khun Mondree aged 49, the driver of Baht Bus number 519, who remained at the scene. He explained that he slowed to receive a customer and suddenly felt a large jolt as if a car had hit him; in fact the motorbike had collided with the rear of his vehicle. Witnesses gave a different story and mentioned how the bus broke sharply without indicating and gave the motorbike no chance to avoid a collision. Police have arrested Khun Mondree and have charged him with causing death by reckless driving.

    Another body found

    Published on July 26, 2005

The body of a Japanese engineer was found yesterday on an islet in the Mekong River, some 50 kilometres from where he and others were swept away on Friday in swirling water when a crane over a bridge being built to link Thailand and Laos collapsed.

Another Japanese engineer died instantly when the crane collapsed, while several Thai and Japanese workers and engineers fell into the turbulent water and disappeared. By yesterday six bodies had been recovered from the river, but two victims were still unaccounted for.

The Thai fisherman who found the sixth body yesterday – that of the second dead Japanese engineer – said he had hurried to the Mekong River islet after he heard Laotian people saying that they saw a corpse there.

“I immediately thought the body could belong to one of the victims of the crane collapse, so I decided to check,” said the fisherman, who identified himself only as Wittaya.

Wittaya explained that he had had to drag the body with his boat for some 10 kilometres back to the Thai side. There, he alerted police.

English Bar Owner jumps to his death in Soi Yamoto, South Pattaya.

Police Major Sutum from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Absolut Bar in Soi Yamoto to investigate the suspected suicide of the bar owner, Mr. Derek John Edwards aged 43 from England. His naked body was lying in the center of the road. He had received a major head trauma thought to have been sustained after the fall from his 2nd floor apartment located above the bar. His wife, Khun Biyawan aged 27 was clearly extremely distraught but mentioned to us that her Husband was a heavy drinker and claimed that he needed to drink every day to keep him sane. On this day he had been out for the day drinking around Pattaya and returned back to his bar at around 6pm in a drunken state. He made his way to his apartment wrote a small suicide note which read: “Sorry, Love you Ping Baby Mum & Kids”. As reported by foreign and Thai witnesses who were drinking in surrounding bars they then say the man jumped. Apart from the excessive drinking there appears to be no other motive for the apparent suicide and Police found no signs of foul play inside his room. The British Embassy in Bangkok has been informed who will in turn inform his family back in England about Mr. Edwards’s death.
